This definitly grinds my gears. I mean after publicly funding the two other ones and realizing it was stupid, you think they would take the opportunity to have one built at 290 NO COST to the public.

Anyways, I just hate politics. I mean I have been watching the news/listening about this all day. First off, the appointed all the other slots licenses first. All white peoples, then the this last group was black… Was this to please the black crowd? An interesing question posed by someone. Then you take a look at Mario, Kevin McClatchy and the Roonies (sp?). NONE of them wanted these guys to get it. None of the Local government (ravenstahl (sp?) and onorato) wanted it PITG to get it. This is sooo stupid that they got it.
I just saw a vote of 1500 people on WPXI on whether they agreed with PITG gaming getting it…

They have all the out large bids over by philly also. Thats gay. I think it has to do with the governer rendell ass-clown being from philly. Then the give them to people who are out of state. So the gov’t is essentially taking PA money and making out of state businessmen rich…SO GAY.

I love hearing how people justify the other 2 shitty pittsburgh teams getting new stuff and are now complaining about a 3rd shitty pittsburgh team getting a place to play. At the time, the steelers were not a good team(kinda like this year) and still got a new place. fast forward a few years and they win the superbowl. the pirates sucked balls for decades, got a new stadium, and got the right for the all star game(which is big money). Now you have an equally shitty penguin team(but with young talent and the most popular players in the league), so give them their new place and see what kind of cool stuff comes this way.
I don’t really watch sports at all(but I like hockey the best) but to give 2 out of 3 pittsburgh teams new places, the third team should be pretty pissed right now. If it were me running the pens, I would tell the city of pissburgh to kiss my ass, i’m outta here.
Well here is one good thing for Pens fans…yesterday we are all pissed b/c we all know that decision was a joke and $$$ was involved…whatever …just have to get over it and see what our options are now. I think I posted a little while back about land being purchased in the HIll district for the new site for the new arena. I think 15 mil was spent and another 15 mil was set aside for demolition. So that is one good thing…the winner of the slots license will put 7.5 mil every year for 30 years towards a new arena…and I heard Cuban is looking into buying the pens again. So there is still some hope.

WTF…I don’t get it why is Lemieux not selling the team anymore. I mean if he wants the Pens to remain in Pgh and lets say if Cuban or the Steelback beer guy offered to buy the Pens and keep them in Pgh then why not sell the Pens to one of them?

they told him to find a way to fund a new arena. He did. and was also bringing in an additional 700 million dollars for the city. They turned it down. He has been trying to a long ass time trying to keep them here and the gov’t just isnt helping.
yea i love how the Pirates who have been rebuilding for 15 years get a new stadium but the pensguins who hav 2 if not 3 of the brightest stars in the game get shit on
because overall more people nationally care about baseball than hockey, baseball brings in more money. team performance has little to do with it. i would love if people would stop crying about the pirates when its rooney is the one who made out like a fuckin bandit… i’mma get the tax payers to buy me a stadium then i;m gonna make then fork up money for a seat licence to keep their season tickets…
It’s about time Mario openly states they are exploring relocating options. Perhaps this will finally get some asses in gear. Mario has shown more loyalty to Pittsburgh than quite possibly any sports star ever has.
