He did the same thing at the vets office, he said it’s because he’s getting fluids and it’s probably pushing on his bladder. He isn’t drinking on his own, so when he finally gets the IV fluids, it makes him pee afterward. I’m having a hard time getting him to take his antibiotics, their both liquid and they have a bad taste, so he spits up saliva when I give them to him. I’ve tried mixing them with food, and even giving him water with a dropper to wash the taste out, but he still does it.
marge hows the kitty doin?
Marge will probably answer after me. He’s using the little box alot more then normal. He still gets mobile at night when im trying to sleep. Found him in this toy play thing marg bought, i think he likes it bc hes not laying on his side. Its like a tunnel with a scratch poll on one side. He seems to like it alot.
Wow, I will keep on prayin for his recovery!
He’s still hanging in there. He still isn’t walking, but he is using his legs to kinda crawl around, he lays on his side and pulls himself using his claws. Toxoplosmosis and encephalitis can take weeks to get better, from what I understand. I’ve been having a hard time with his IV, seems like his catheter keeps getting clogged up, even though I flush it a few times before starting the IV. He spits up when I give him his medications. I’m just worried that he might have permanent brain damage, but I guess it’s too soon to tell yet.
We’re all hoping for the best.
If anyone knows someone who might want an archery bow, please look at my post in the classifieds. The kitty has run be broke and put my checking into the negatives, I really need to come up with some money fast. Thanks.
Willie is doing a little better, he’s sorta walking. He skies too lol. He gets in a sitting position and pushes himself using his back legs, but his front legs just dont move, so it looks like he’s skiing…He actually walks a little too, falls over a lot though still. He’s putting up a fight to take his meds now, scratched me earlier. He didnt have the energy to fight before.
Willie started eating dry food again tonight.:bigok: He’s cruising around the house too, still pretty wobbly though. :burnout:
glad to hear Marge, we are pullin for him
ugh, cat is so much more mobile then yesterday morning when I had to giv ehim his meds. He swung and connected with a claw right on the back of my thum nail. made me bleed. Seems to be walkin all over the place, slowly but surely. When I walk into another room he wobbles behind me. So hes starting to get better. I just hope he fully recovers. Time to go give his IV, this should be intresting.
This is good to hear. A cat with some fight in him is a cat on the road to recovery. Someday you’ll look back on this and smile.
Well, we came home to find Willie had made his way onto the couch. Then he fell off…lol poor guy. He is doing a lot better. He’s going back to the vet Tuesday for a check-up.
So, how’s he doing?
Doing well, still a little wobbly when walking. Finished up most of his meds. Just have to continue on the Clyndamisin(sp??) till its gone. See if he gets any better. He’s def inhigher spirits. Trys to avoid us alot bc he thinks he’s gonna get atk’d for more meds down his throat lol. Hes mobile. walks like a newborn kitten would is the best way to describe it.
Good to hear.
