Sooooooooo, I have a CF piece that goes over the oem lip on the Z…I pried it off on Friday. It was horrible looking. The clear coat failed apparently (it was “peeling”) … So…I started sanding. 180 grit, and then 320 grit for like an hour  then 400, 600, 800, 1000 and finally 1200. Now have 10 coats of quick dry clear on it…LOL I hope it looks good when I am done. I had to do something…cause it was driving me crazy…check it out…sucks huh?

Now here it is, sanded, and clear coated…drying…

Finished!!!
I am going to let it cure for a few more days and I’ll post pics of it back on…
It was a BITCH to get the freaking original mounting tape off too :ugh:
Good work. I’ve had pretty good results using the DupliColor stuff for touchups and small paint jobs. Usually a wet sand and buff helps smooth out the clear coat too.
