DIY buddy. I would suggest getting from canadian tire either bumper coating or the black wheel paint they have that comes in a blue/white(or silver cant rem) Both cans are a flat/mat finish. Then use that same wheel paint clear coat. Its awesome fkn paint in all my years and it works great in cooler weather which a lot of paints dont.
Just be sure to give the oem paint a good clean with wax/grease remover and then scuff with 320 followed by something in the middle of 320-600. Make sure the surface is dry and try to stay above +5 degrees, the warmer the better. Take off the trim at the tops of the DS/PS windows by pulling the rubber off and theres some philips screws in there. Paint them seperatly and mask around the windsheild and all that jazz as best as you can. A light sand between the base and clear coat with 600 will give the clear coat a nice surface to cling to. If the clear doesnt turn out all that great wetsand it with 800-1000 and re-clear it. Repeat if necessary and try not to wetsand off what you just sprayed on each time, you want to build up the layers of clear coat so in the end you can hit it real good with some 1200-1500 and then wax away to bring out the shine. Dont stress when the clears all dull looking from wet sanding the wax brings the shine back. If the clear comes out nice from the beginning id leave it and avoid wetsanding because your weakening the durability of the clear. Only show cars or shitty paintjobs need wet sanding. This will cost you a day of your time and $30 bucks. Best of luck.
Awesome write up… I just might do it then. Sounds like I should wait till the tail end of winter to attempt this.Too bad I don’t have a surface to try it out first on.
