yea thats a good idea, i heard some other ppl say that helps alot, and plus u got ur sway bar off right? if so it might even be easier cause that was the thing that came in my way when putting it in. But for you, its gonna be fun getting the oil pick up in cause of that bolt at the bottom, unless you got lucky and dont have it either. LMK how it goes, oo yea are u planning on going ka-t in the future cause u prolly want to tap a bung in there now instead of doing it again.
lol ya no bolt for me, the oil pick up line had two 12mm bolt, and thats it. stabilizer is loose not off, I can swing it alot though. but ya no bolt at the bottom. im gonna be doing that tommorrow
ok so I finished the job lol FINALLY. but I messed up on two things.
-
I broke one of the bolts for the front stabilizer.
-
I found the gasket for the oil pick up line, AFTER everything was sealed and bolted in…FML…hopefully it wont cause any problem
thats sucks after finishing it u found it, i broke one of my rear oil pan bolts now its up in the block so i hope it doesn’t leak. the bolt broke and i wasn’t even applying any pressure.
dont you hate that ?
It takes soo little to ruin a good project ending, i hate breaking bolts, it shouldn’t leak in your case.
and for my case, the gasket shouldne cause anything, since the oil pick up inside the oil pan.
ya you should be ok, im not so sure cause about the bolt after doing some research some people pans leaked a little bit. but i put some more RTV around the outside edge just in case.
id take off the pan and put the gasket back in… the gasket seals the pickup … without that your going to be leaking the oil back into the oil pan instead of sending the oil to the head.
Be prepared to pull it apart again. You absolutely NEED that gasket.
If you get another stubborn bolt like that try some PB blaster and let it soak in it does wonders on tough bolts and nuts I cant tell you how many damn stubborn bolts it helped me out with it really works! Or you could always use some heat that also helps too…O and as for the oil pan gasket i just use Grey Rtv sealer works great …good luck with your project hope you get it done soon +1 for i hate oil pain leak repairs!lol
can you get PB blaster from canadain tire cause last time when i went they didint have it.
