Charger SRT-8 way out classed, or NOT?

 i was thinking the same thing after i read it.

 you guys are rubbing off on me.

it may also be my first gen. auto post

:stuck_out_tongue:

They didn’t actually COMPARE the two like they compared the 330i, A4 (or was it the S4) and the WRX. It was more of a side bar.

:word:

Welcome to the automotive side of the forum.

id rather have the SRT-8 40 grand less or not…but not like i have a biased opinion or anything

i  my Maxima at 7.5k…i have never been a Mopar or Caddy guy…driven them all (used car dealer)…driven MB and BMWs…i agree 40k difference is alot…to me it would be better to find somethign in between the 2…there has to be something…and it my own opinion a BMW or MB will have way more longevity than any Chrysler product…i mean come on they advertise the HEMI like its the latest and greatest technology

They are NOT in the same class… no where close. Thats the whole point. Unlike some people on here like to think…performance is not the all encompassing measure

OMFG JESUS OMFG SHIT SHIT BALLS.

I was talking about performance wise. :bloated: Just like the article was talking about. Craftsman wise? No…of course not.

There you go again, totally twisting what is said, trying to make someone look stupid, and you arguably smart.

you drive a stang. you will never win.

hahahah… you are a clown

I guess I misinterpreted what you meant. Im not used to you making sense.
So I retract the previous post. Relax before you pee yourself. You win.

Dude I have no reason to sit here and try to make myself look smart to goofballs like yourself. I really dont care what you think of me. I am participating in a discussion, nothing less, nothing more. I cant make anyone look stupid… what one thinks or says does that for them. Your “Im not a dummy defense” makes me laugh. heee heee

I guess in your “Far Side” razor doll world what car people drive is a direct reflection of their intelligence and what caliber girls they can get(from another thread). My heap is currently in pieces and Im driving a 99 Honda Accord. What do your intelligence Tarot Cards say about people that drive stripped down Honda Hatches?

Oh no you didn’t.

It is an addicting feeling isnt it

I think the 300C is damned impresive for the $$$, but it is way too ugly for me to even seriously consider owning one. But for the $$, that’s one hell of a fast 4-seater. But, the CTS-V is one hell of a car overall, even with the higher price and less performance than the 300C. The M5 and the AMG are much more expensive and really aren’t in the same market segment. The CTS-V kind of straddles the middle and overall, when price is considered, is the best of the bunch, IMHO. No matter what, I’d be damned pissed to get a good race from a 300C at 1/2 the price if I bought anyone of the others.

All of these cars, especially the new M5 and M6 are going to be nightmares once they start to age. We will probably be seeing SBC swaps into them when the get to be 8-10 years old like used to be SOP for aging Jaguars. They are so enormously complex so that they will develop very obscure and/or expensive problems. The only way I would own an M5, M6, or a CTS-V is as a new car, on lease, with a manufacturers extended warranty. The limited production will insure that most mechanics never get really familiar with them, and that there will no aftermarket for many of the bits and pieces. You will be left at the mercy of the manufacturer for parts, for as long as they decide to produce them (which may not be too long). The CTS-V will be the best of the three in that respect becuse it uses lots of relatively generic GM parts. So that’s the only one of the three that I would consider as a long term purchase. The 300C wins in this respect, it also uses some relatively generic parts and is relatively cheap enough that could always just “throw it away” (figuratively) if you had to.

Nice post! Articulate, coherent, persuasive. Even good spelling and punctuation.

Bravo!

Defintely apples and oranges here. If I could afford $80,000 for a car the SRT-8, is definitely not in my list. Most likely If I could afford that I would prolly already have a good amount of money saved for collge for my kids. SRT-8 and the 300 is for those who can afford a $40,000 vehicle. NO real comparison here. You are getting good perfomance for ur $$$ with the DCX cars. If I want pure Luxury I’d look to Lexus

I dont know why everyone is shocked that the srt-8 did so well. This thing is an E-Class MB chassis with an american engine and tranny. So basically it is almost as fast as an e55 because it is one with some extra pounds. Ever since the merger Dodge/Chrysler has been throwing new bodys on german chassis and selling them for 75 percent of the price. Crossfire is the same thing. Kinda funny how the press has been so good on those cars huh? Because they are rebaged and re-engined german cars. I dont know where they are built but if they are in america then there is your service complaint number cause and effect. Also kinda funny that a year after its release (300cand wagon varients and whatever) it was offered with all wheel drive. MB 4-matic is what it really is. I work at SSBC and have seen tons of cars on the lifts we have for possile brake kits. One employees magnum 2wd was on the lift. Guess what? All you saw was Sachs name on everything. If they didnt add so much weight to the damn thing(even theough they look cool as hell) it would have probably beat the E55 because of a stronger engine.
