Steve,

If you want the same size wheel as last time (16x7 +40) it will fit the front of your car fine with any size tire that will fit on a 7" wide wheel… (I wouldn’t recommend anything more than a 235 unless you’re running something with a soft sidewall… like your 555R) Personally I would recommend a 225.

however, it will be fairly sunken… if you care at all for aesthetics you might want to get some extended studs and a 30mm (or larger if you want to go really flush) spacer.

Anyhow, with current exchange here are some quotes for you…

when you say 555R, I’m assuming you mean the drag radial so that’s what i’ve quoted for you. However, if it were me I’d consider the NT555 (regular street tire) or NT555RII or NT01 (not great in wet, but an incredible tire). There’s not much benefit to having a drag radial on the front or a rwd car - they’ll be sticky yes, but the soft sidewall of a drag radial means you’ll have shitty turn-in/steering response amoung other things.

I haven’t checked, but the NT555RII doesn’t come in many sizes, we might not have much luck finding a good match for your

It doesn’t look like the 555R comes in 225 or 235… so here is a quote on the 245 just for reference… take a look at the nitto site for available sizes. ( http://www.nittotire.com/ )

John,

I would like to get some pricing on 255/35/18 and 225/40/18

Cant decide from:
BFGoodrich g-Force T/A® KDW NT
Falken FK-452
Toyo Proxes T1R
Yokohama S.Drive

Any recommendations John, or from anyone else? Looking for a good performance tire, fairly sticky. Any other tires I should look at?

Heya James,
I added a couple of tires to the list that I recommend that are approximately equal. I can’t get the Toyo unfortunately, sorry. Also, I didn’t quote the KDW NT because I don’t like it  (It’s got average dry performance and very good wet performance… just not my thing and probably not yours either)

Hey John…

im looking to get a set of tires… and these rims… MOMO rims but don’t know what they are called.

http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/1131/momorimsqr5.jpg

im thinking of going 19 rears and 18 fronts.

this would be on a 95-97 240SX… can you let me know the price and tires size and if you can get the rims as well…

cheers,
Marlon

Hi Marlon

Unfortunately these wheels are only manufactured with 4x100 and 5x100 bolt patterns which will not fit any 240sx.

Anything else you might be interested in?

John

I put together a Wheel and Tire manufacturer list a long with URL’s so you guys can browse what is available through these group buys a little easier.

Please note that not everything is available from all manufacturers. For example, i can get wheels american racing but not all models (don’t ask why… I have no idea to be honest). Same goes for some tire manufacturers.

OK so I was just told by my supplier about the following deal. They only have 4 of these in stock (someone else here has dips on these temporarily but I don’t think he’ll want them most likely)

SSR Professor SP1
19x10.5 ET55
Silver finish (I believe, but it might be black)
Cost: CAD$160 per wheel to get it to my house in Oakville. you pick up from there.

I’m not sure what MSRP is on these but I found a guy selling 2 of these and 2 19x9.5 in a package deal, with tires, for $3600+shipping.

So probably safe to assume the regular price on these is somewhere in the area of $750 - $800 per wheel?

… bonkers

//edit// heres what they look like in black (again, I’m not sure what finish these are… let me know if you’re interested)

http://hungwin.com/gallery/albums/misc/professor_sp1_black.jpg

//edit// 5x114.3 btw… if it wasn’t already obvious ;]

Sick deal on those SSRs I almost hit BUY IT NOW but that offset what the frig is that for?

Its like over 35mm off of what I run!

yeah who the hell knows… its probably why its so damn cheap heh

need to package in some 30mm spacers and extended studs … then this would be a deal ;]

Ummm I just dont think that geometry would work once you lowered the car down off the hoist.

+55 WTFBBQ!

Hey John

Nexxen is made by Kumho…but it’s not on the list. I was just wondering if you’d be able to get Nexxen tires.

-Sam

My order is in

Cant wait for new tires!

Hey John…

ok thanks for that… shucks! I was hoping for that…
I have my next pick Enkei Rims… model WDM with the Gunmetal Finish!
again this is for a 1995 nissan 240sx but this time… im looking to get them in 18 inch rear and 17 inch front (unless you can get them in 19" rear and 18" front… I prefer that!!!). I don’t know what offset to get, since Im new to the
240sx world. I will be getting a body kit for it if that helps you with what will fit… Thanks bro… ket me know!!!

Just a quick update - the order is approximately 70% full. I’ve got room for only 2-3 more full sets depending on sizes/value, etc.

I’d still like to get this wrapped up over the next few days so we can have this stuff back here by mid-march.
