I recorded these acouple months ago and took a break from music do to it getting nice out and having stuff to do outside, getting back into them a bit now. its metal/rock. i recorded everything on my computer myself. as of now all these songs have are drums and guitars, going to do bass and vox soon though. let me know what you guys think so far.

I liked Rates and Repic the best.
thats pretty good man. do you lay the drums and guitar yourself and then lay them together?
yeah just record one track at a time, drums then left guitar then right guitar and some little overdubs and stuff and mix em all together. im recording it all with my computer using cakewalk sonar.
how do you like cakewalk? I currently use a digital 16 track directly to cassette, and was considering Cakewalk or Cubase, possibly Protracks.
My one buddy uses cakewalk and lives by it. I’ve never messed with it enough to make an opinion.
I’d love to get a little mixing setup to record with. I have a ton of acoustic stuff I want to lay down. Hopefully in a few months I want to have a full band setup in my upstairs.
I love Sonar but i guess its by defualt as that is the only big name prog ive ever used. its super easy for me to mess with since im so firmiliar with it. makes me kinda biased though. most people use cubase unless you have some loot then you use pro tools. electric guitar was super to record. all i did was plug my guitar into a distortion pedal that i have, it acts as a preamp or line level convertor, an i don’t turn it on though cause it sounds like crap. then go from the pedal to the line in on the back of the computer, you have to get an adapter from the big 1/4 cable to a 1/8" cable though. now you should here the guitar through the headphones or speakers. to get that awesome tone though i used Amplitube 2.0. its a prog with all kinds of built in amps and cabs and effects. sounds so sweet. just open up sonar, select a track, oen up the vst of amplitube and arm for recording. bbbbbbblllllllaaaam sck sound.
So you can doo all that on sonar and then piggy back it with Amplitube? All I would need is the right card for inputs to the computer… or i was thinking about a standalone mixer if that would make it easier.(I hope to have as much as a full band at once)
you could record as much as you want with just the 1 line in jack that is on all computers already. just one track at a time. you can set a mic up and use adapters to plug it into your comp and sing and play guitar and whatever else all at once if you want but it will sound like crap. to do say a drum set with more than one mic you would need to buy an audio interface that is usb or firewire so you can plug in more than one mic. as for just recording guitar i just go straight into the back of the comp into the line in and open sonar then select the input and a track and then open up the effects section for that track and open up the amplitube prog and record a riff at a time and paste it all together then open up another track and do the same but this time i pan the track to the right and the first one to the left so you have it in stereo then and a right and left guitar.
sounds pretty good man for compiling it all yourself. :bigthumb:
