ebay seller name= markdown-madness
went to the one on the blvd today and nothing is on sale yet except for dvd’s which are 20% off
all accessories were 20% off when i went into the one at the blvd/sheridan. This is supposed to go on until the end of March. And I think my friend told me that all employees will be getting paid for the next 2 months if they make it that far or not.
Place was pretty busy though. I was told that the prices were no different than what they were 2 months ago, but people are lining up to buy now.
Do you work there?
Its was only a matter of time before some of these stores started closing. Media Play began the extinction, we’ll see other stores either drop a lot of electronic stuff (Sears has really cut its Electronics down to nothing) or go out. How much stuff can people buy really?
I will say this, for a stretch of time, prices were great when they were fighting inch by inch for market share.
Lots of competition in the field, especially when you charge 60 dollars for a HDMI that can be had online for 20 or less or charge around 20 for a cable splitter than can be bought in less glamor packaging at home depot.
Really almost anytime I went into Circuit City I usually ended up walking out frustrated becuase they didn’t quite have what I wanted or I knew I could it cheaper down the road at Best Buy, Radio Shack, Walmart, or Home Depot.
The only thing that I liked about them, the did a good job at following the Erie County Price Discrepancy reports. They marked things wrong all the time, when they ring up to high you get 10X the difference back up to X amount. It was also nice having a Verizon Store right in there too.
The car stereo guys on the Boulevard/Sheridan were also friendly. I know several people who got jobs there too, it is a shame when any large chain goes out people lose jobs, but there’s also an almost unusable building left behind.
so no real deals to be had then? I really could use a Blu ray player and a HD camcorder.
yeah im in the market for a new 32-42" tv
Big E and I want last night. If you call 10% off certain items and nothing off other stuff then yes. If you wan the truth, don’t waste your time yet. I’m giving it a few days and going back to see what stuff is marked then…
fuck-em, fuck-em, fuck-em. i have a 2 year warranty on my polk 6x9s and theres about a year left. i took them out the second i heard about this. took them in the am to find that i need to contact some fucking number to find out what i can do with that warranty. i looked at the person working customer service and ask why she couldnt just exchange them out. i told her what does it really matter, they just fucked you out of your job without even telling you and what would happen if you did the exchange? lose your job? she still wouldnt do it. now i gotta call that number. probably send the speakers in and wait like 3 fucking months to get them back.
^^she could lose her job and as it stands right now she has 2 months of paychecks coming in, so she doesn’t want to get fired. I know at our store they already fired 2 people for stuff like that. Can’t they deny you unemployment depending on how you get fired too??
you are an idiot…
you have a warranty on them… you took out speakers that were working fine, and expected her to replace them on the spot?
the warranty you have specifically states you need to call the # IF they are defective… but you think she is at fault for not wanting to do YOU the favor of doing the swap in store…
i wouldnt have done it for you either, and i did a lot of “creative” things when i worked there to help people out
Seriously,That was the dumbest rant I have ever heard. When they show no defect and you waste 3 weeks of you’re time i will laugh alo.
both of you are dumb asses. i got a warranty threw circuit city. if “you” dont like how your speakers sound, if you think something is wrong, you bring them in and they replace them right on the spot with a new pair no questions asked. ive done it with every pair that i have bought, right before the warranty is off. and i didnt say i was pissed at her. i just said how it sucks that it wouldnt happen and the fact that they lost there jobs anyways. i was unaware of the 2 months they were getting paid after it was closed.
so what this means is that if circuit city didnt go under, i could just before my 2 year warranty was up, take them back even if they were fine, and get new ones. again i have done it several times. i was just trying to get the warranty out of it before the company hit the shitter completely.
Ah so you are whining that this girl wouldnt help you scam the system. Boo hoo:roflpicard:
no I’m whining because now i need to call up some fucking number and have to go threw a waiting period to get them back. doesnt matter to much because im going to wait till spring to put them back in any ways.
edit: its just the fact that i cant exchange them for a new pair threw circuit city without a problem
doing the exchange at CC was NOT normal policy… it was a courtesy CC extended YOU .
The policy on speakers was not to exchange them any time you wanted, but they had to actually hear/be able to test for the defect you claimed… ie blown coil/ ripped speaker boot etc…
it wasnt a simple exchange it whenever you want, we want to loose money warranty…
But its because of people like you that the extended warranty was so expensive
so why every time i bought the warranty i was told if something was wrong or i didnt like how they sounded, i could bring them back in exchange for a new pair. regardless of what they thought. if i didnt buy the warranty threw cc then if they got defective i would need to send them back to polk. if they didnt have the speakers in stock then they would send them to be repaired or get a new pair if they couldnt be repaired. if they came out with a newer version of it, i just had to pay the difference. but never was i told any different.
so how come i never got a call or anything from cc saying i brought back perfectly fine speakers in exchange for new ones just before my warranty was up? they had my contact info
It would be funny to go in and buy gift cards and ask if and when they expire.
stop throwing them and they’ll last longer.
I wonder if my brother in law has spent the one we got him for christmas yet. He specifically wanted circuit city, despite my wife telling him I said they were probably going out of business soon.
