Ok heres the deal. I just picked up a 96 Civic DX coupe from work for an excellent deal. I’m looking to do the 99-00 front end conversion. Here goes the parts list i’ve and correct me if i’m wrong
1.Headlights
2.hood
3.fenders
4.bumper
5.grill
and last but not least i’ve been told the i should get the rad support from the si also cause everything might not line up correctly. I’ve also been told from others that they didnt have to change the rad support and everything worked out. So anyone who has done this transformation or knows alot about hondas i could use your input. Thanks.:burnout: :burnout:
The 99-00 has a different front end…like stated the fenders, headlights, bumper and grill. I have heard of the rad support issue…but I don’t believe its crucial to the conversion. The lips for the 99-00 are different from the year civic he has which falls under the 96-98 style.
Yea they do look similar but the 99-00 bumper has slots in it. The headlights if u look are diffrent and i guess basically it just looks a tad bit smoother. I found a good bit of lip kits for the 96-98 also that were pretty nice. I found a si front for dirt cheap so thats y i’m considering the change.
Lol yea i know but it’s a daily driver and the performance aspect isnt going to be taken to far. I would like to swap something in it down the rd. I’m just going to drive this motor till it dies then progress forward. I just found a good deal on a si front and wanted to make sure so when i do the conversion, i know what i need.
Its kinda cool with hondas cause all of the possiblitys as far as swaps and such and the compatibility. It should be fun though.
