A great idea for civic owners. I got a EG Hatch w/ no armrest/center console. With my seat back its hard to reach the shifter on the ground(stock location). I think I’m going to give this a shot.
A seen on eon a delsol turbo @ flashlights, looked nice w/ a good throw.
A friend of mine locally who I race with has had this shifter on his CRX for a few years. Its alright, the throws on it are alot better than a stock shifter. Fairly smooth and not real notchy. But the actual distance the shifter travels (between 1st & 2nd for example) is shorter than stock, but longer than the DC short shifter in my car.
That’s probably Lostsolvtec from Honda-tech, red & boosted, I made the gauge pod for him… another guy I know had the same one on his integra ( I think it’s were the sol driver got the inspiration) The teg had around 400 hp, and he said it felt alot better to use than a short shift, 'cuz his hands were able to go from the wheel to the shifter and back faster. I’ve heard great things about em, but it does take a quick minute to adjust to…
Here’s a review with a couple pics of it installed in an integra
If you have the same shifter and throw that Mark has in the green car, I do not like that at all. His is too short. I LOVE driving his car, but get scared at that shifter, that I’ll miss and break something. Part of the reason I won’t put a short shifter in the Civic.
too each his own for sure…though honestly my shifter looks like its been there all along ( fits perfectly )…I’m also still sportin the accord shift knob. I’ll post pics when get off work.
I don’t care for the look of it myself, I feel like it needs to have an 8ball or skull on top of it like a rat rod! But it’s defintely the safest way to short shift a honda with an extreme amount of power. There’s just less time with your hands off the wheel. For everyday cruising, give me a sunken shifter… I loved the one in my del sol, the bottom of the knob was almost even with the top of the console…
