Civic: stalling/ dieing out when given throttle

i just did a d16y8 swap on my 97 civic hatch. it idle good untill it warms up. it seems to have a vacuum leak. when giving the car throttle, it dies out. it cant even go WOT.
engine is a d16y8 with dx ecu, wiring harness, timing all done
NO CEL

so what are you asking? you said it has a vac leak…

what ecu you are you running? who did the swap? why did you swap?

im just asking what are the possible causes of this problem.
im running a DX ECU, DX Harness, DX TB, i did the swap myself, it starts up just fine and idles good ( just warmed it up for a good 15min)
the problem is, once i start to open the throttle, it start to die out/ stall, if i was to WOT it, it would stall out ( rpm dont increase, jsut blahhh-stall). if i slowly open the throttle, the RPMs will raise, it also tends to do a little better if the map unplug

sounds like the timing is off.

start by checking ur map sensor return voltage to the pcm

Check your grounds. Coolant temp sensor?

Did you mix up the plugs for the TPS and MAP sensor?

the car is timed, i did it myself last night, coolant temp is in,
mike, it could be possible, ill check it out

unplug the map and tps then start the car… the car will go into limp mode … but will work… if this works you had the plugs wrong or you have a bad map or tps

if this still does not work let us know

sounds like TPS

yea it sound like the car thought it was a wot at 2 k and just dumping gas in it

you need to unplug something to get it to go into limp mode…

there is a way to calibrate the TPS and confirm a good signal. Google it or search on honda-tech.com

Why did you swap out the Throttle body?

this is for obd1

may want to look threw this here

ok the plugs was on backwards. but there more problems.
question: since im using the Dx TB ( which has the IACV). is it okay to just leave the IACV on the back of the manifold unplug? or do i HAVE to remove it and block it off with a plate?
when i first start the car up it runs good, but when it hit operating temps, the car tends to bog and stall out. it like it does into limp mode then after a sec. it has a smooth idle again. then when i put it under some load again, it goes into that “limp” mode feel again

get an ex ecu and use the y8 ex manifold.

if i get an ex ecu, i wont pass inspection because of the gas tank sensor and would have to repin my harness for the iacv, i mean i know its somthing little. these swap has been done alot of times with no issues. damnit no sleep for me tonight
