For about a week now my neighbors civic will start in the morning when its cool out, but when he gets out of work it won’t fire. Sounds like its not getting any gas. If you spray starter fluid into the air intake pipe the car will fire and start. With modulating the throttle you can keep it running and then it will eventually idle. Any thoughts on what the problem could be?
lol you didnt even tell us what year the car is
you suck. now i am not helping.
jk, post information about the car though. year/trim level would help
oops sorry. 1994 civic ex with a d16
could be the coolant temp sensor
Ten bucks on main relay. Dunno why, but they work better in the cold.
give me 10 bucks b/c it would not even think of turning over if it was the main relay
you side it will start when you spray start fluid into it? < ~ will it work every time like that??
if this is the case you should grab a dizzy from someone and try a new dizzy… or we need to check the gas presure could even be a filter ( witch is crazy easy to replace) … does it sound like it primes the gas into the rail when you turn the car key to on? can you here the hiss of gas comming in?.if you here it your getting gas and its just not going into the intake right… witch this could also be the dizzy not acting right ( the CPS ) … if its the CPS this is also why its hard to start … ( i have a extra rail and injectors laying around if you wanted to get cracy and change them) ( i also have a few filters if you wanted to try that)
once it starts its hard to keep running? have you tried to turn up idel at all … there is a flathead screw at 12 o’clock if lookng at the intake side of TB look at the pic here
get the car running and turn it about 180* clock wise ( i think) and you should hear the car comeup a lil if it dies go the other way … you may have to turn it 2 full times but that should keep it up there …
try that see what happens
Yes it will start everytime when you throw some gas or starter fluid into the intake.
I can’t for sure say I did or did not hear the injectors squirting, but I’m pretty sure I didn’t.
I doubt its the fuel filter based on it starting every morning for him.
