Civic suspension revamp

Both dual wishbone and trailing arms are OK with a mild drop and no camber adjustment… Mcpherson doesn’t do as well…

TY

new civics are dual wishbone on all 4 corners, on previous gens they are trailing arm set up

wrong, new civics are junk ass macpherson

i thought 01-06 civics were wishbone

nope

feedback on OEM vs “duralast” autozone balljoints.

Right now I have skunk 2 springs with kyb gr2’s about to go on my car they rode awesome and dumped the car about 2- 2.5 inches, i wouldnt say its the best for a dd tho because of how low it goes.

On my old 99 civic ex, it had koni yellows, with tein blues struts. Which was by far the best suspension i have ever driven on in a honda, no bounce, and not extremely low.Nice subtle drop and didnt kill the tires from stressing the ball joints. Id recommend finding a used set of something along those lines paul.

From my experience the skunk 2 camber kit is awesome, it really corrects the negative camber and saves your tires and also replaces your upper ball joints in the porcess.

Word, thank you. Wait a minute MR.T, how do you know my name?

yeah but you’ve never had your cars long enough to see how long the balljoints last lol

and hes 95mx6, he’s silly and paid to get his name changed :stuck_out_tongue:

oh my, missed that one.

OEM vs. autozone…anyone?

:wave:lol

Id do Oem with balljoints paul, that and possibly get some of those energy suspension bushings alltho ive never used them.

and Deebo grundle, my ek hatch was slammed and I had that car for almost a year and my ball joints were just peachy haha.

ok im going to make a shopping list… so many things to consider…

add to it if you think I need too:

-shocks/struts (necessary)
-sway bars/strut bars(optional)
-upper ball joints (most likely necessary/oem)
-lower ball joints(?)
-bushings(?)
-camber kit(optional/not necessary)

anything else? I will source these parts out slowly then install further down the road. My hopes is to learn a thing or two in the process. Like I said before, I have never done my own suspension work.

OK, I can give you excellent input on this…

ball joints - fuck duralast. get oem which are expensive or what I usually get Advanced auto trw or moog balljoints. Run them in all my hondas with no issues at all.
shocks/struts/springs - maybe some agxs cuz they are cheap. But you seem like a person who doesn’t want to fuck around with the suspension all the time so I’d actually suggest the buddy club coilover kit or PIC performance kit. Very nice for the money. I personally use the koni/GC setup but my spring rates are pretty brutal for the daily drive.
Bushings through energy suspension are inexpensive and good, however, have fun putting them in. We can do it for you at swerve but it’s typically a decent amount of labor.
