CJRando's 99 BMW M3

I just picked this up last Thursday, from a friend of mine, who was selling it. The vehicle is solid, but I’ve got a lot of preventive maintenance to catch up on. I started with a cooling system flush and an oil change. It’s going to need a clutch, but it’s drivable. I need to replace one of the O2 sensors also. Those are the only remaining issues I have left to address. Please let me know if any of you guys have any E36 parts: mostly cosmetic stuff, like missing trim and what not. As you can see, I’m missing the black center front bumper trim.

too bad its obd2 a 95 would be a fun car to build.

what are your plans aside from bringing it up to date with maintenance?

White and clean, definitely a good pickup

Clutches are easy to swap in this car too.

Chris…since you change cars every year…I’ll be happy to buy it from you next summer.

I’m going to get some new springs and give it a nice drop. I’d like to get the vehicle back to good working order. It needs quite a bit of cosmetic things, which I will mostly replace with OE or BMW performance parts.

I’ll probably be keeping this one for a while. When I do decide to get rid of it I’ll keep you in mind.

i have a black 95 that still needs some minor shit but i love the car. its fun, reliable and a great DD.

I think I know this car! Does your friend live in johnstown/g-ville and work at Radio Shack in amsterdam???

^…yup…that was him.

nick emery lol! does he still have his supra at his grammas house? lol…

I like it.

I’ve started to tear the car apart and give it a good cleaning and do some minor repairs. I started with the seats. I’m in need of a switch for the passenger side if anyone has one they don’t need.

Here’s a stock photo:

I also did a hasty repair of a hole in the drivers side seat.

The one on the left is cleaned, the right was just pulled out of the car:

Thanks!

I thinking I’m going to try to find some dye to touch up the seats. Has anyone ever used the VHT products?

Yeah i guess hes working on it now too.

thought so.

I think he’s given up on it. He just picked up a Mid 90’s RX7.

Nice car

not bad i like it ! the louvers in the hood should be white

Here’s some interior before and after shots. The carpets were destroyed. Oxy-Clean works wonders

Wow. Going to have to use that on my carpets. This car is so cool.

The best use I’ve found for it is cleaning carpets. I think Billy Mays would approve
