That is your opinion. Try man handling 600 plus horse while taking those curves. That to me is driving. It’s a fine line between fast and losing the tail.
Not trying to be a complete asshole here but, have you even driven one? Or are you just basing this on internet articles, hype, fanboy forums etc?
I’m not saying it’s not a great car, it certainly seems to be based on what I’ve READ (haven’t thrashed one around yet). However, saying a “fuck a CTS-V, Vette, Mustang etc” because “corners” just makes you look handicapped. You don’t have to chose handling or power, you can have your cake and eat it too.
All 3 cars mentioned have laid down sweet ass lap times in various articles I have read. I think ha. I like burnouts and straight line fun though since I am a nancy/bad driver otherwise.
However according to moto this means I have a huge penis.

generically speaking, power is like money. who doesn’t want more money even if you’re not going to use it?
Would I want one of these for my daily car? no way, too slow for that. But going back to my main point, Clarkson is praising the formula, it takes a brave company to produce a lightweight, RWD, affordable sports car (not GT car) these days…
my track car is the least powerful of the 4 cars I own, and I see nothing wrong with this.
even though the corvette/cts-v/mustang etc. might have more grip and ultimate speed they’ll never be able to match the feel of a 2600 lb car with a much shorter wheel base. I do wish it had more like 250hp but still a great package.
Apparently you have not driven both… the NEW 2013 Genesis coupes in the 2.0t and 3.8 are much more fun to whip around than a mustang V6 or gt. Gt is much faster but not nearly as fun to drive.
I have driven the mustang both engines and the 3.8L genesis. I did not like the interior or the seating position in the genesis. I found the mustang was much easier to drive.
I do sell Genesis’…and mustangs and miatas etc… and drive them everyday. Mustang is hands down faster just not as fun imo. And FYI alex you drove the 2012 Genesis, 2013 is a whole new animal 4cyl has 70hp more and the v6 has 40hp more.
Just different strokes… I am sure the board would split 50/50 if i asked Miata or Mustang, its the same concept.
See, here’s the thing. Like Mike said, you don’t have to pick power or handling. Talking about a “real drivers car” sounds like an excuse to me. I owned an S2000 which was also considered a great drivers car (and it was), but it did lack the power to get away from a much faster car on the track even though exit speeds were faster. If you were to auto cross, then perhaps the power doesn’t mean as much in straight line, but on a real track with straights, power matters. On the street, it probably matters more than how fast you can safely take a turn on a public road.
I’m probably one of the most unbiased people on here when it comes to what cars I like, but if I’m going to have a dedicated “fun” car, it had better have enough power to pull away from grandma in her Camry. BTW the corvette has 51/49 weight distribution…just sayin
