Clash of the Titans....photos

Clash of the Blues shall we say. Two customer cars, namely Eric Smiths 2003 Evo 8 and Justin McGraths 2006 STi. Two completely different approaches to speed and completely different animals in their own right. Some pics/descriptions of the cars out at my shop.

Note you photographers…I suck at taking pics and my camera is shitty.

Tuned ~21-22lbs @~ 320WTQ/305WHP. OLOA contender, Northeast autocross champion. Built as a circuit car not a drag queen. My absolute favorite import car I’ve ever built. I would personally take on any car around a track behind the wheel of this one. Watkins Glen, bring it on! Prototype black box unit to regulate turbo surge. Boost pressure is not controlled by the turbo wastegate, but rather by a bleed off via the Syncronic bypass valve. The bypass valve I have modified and hooked up to act as both a dump valve and “wastegate” simultaneously. This type of system is complicated and under wraps here, but in the end works out for very very quick spool and seamless throttle modulation on the track thought corners. Car will soon have a prototype 16G “component” from R247 to eliminate all Evo-prone surge and bucking and even further produce more power out of the 16G compressor at 21-22lbs(efficiency range)

I remember watching that evo run at a charity auto-x on prospect mt. It was freakin sick.

thansk for the comments guys. i’ll keep you posted as the tuning commenses today.

ohhh the block box secrecy… I’m dropping my car off as soon as that gets the final stamp of approval from Adam.

looking forward to seeing some numbers on the Sti

both cars are awesome! fun as hell to drive and look sexy. great list of mods

Looks like a fun shoot. Was it something spontaneous or planned?

Both are looking tough :bowdown

Completely spontaneous. I’ve had just finished getting the TRE drivetrain back into Erics Evo and completing the break in and had also just finished up the work on Justins STi. Had both cars at the shop waiting for customers to pick them up and took the photos for kicks. Had it be planned I would have paid someone to come on down and take the shoot for me. Maybe some time soon.

what did the sti put down?

it didnt…yet. :ninja

Currently the STI is the worlds largest paperwork. Hang around, I’ll have numbers soon enough :banana

where are u guys dynoing these?

Moon Performance in Lake Placid.

J Dubya - Are you going up for dyno time soon? If you can wait 10-12 days I’ll come and break in the new motor.
