To me seem extremely dumb. Must post a picture? this is a local board if the person is in a serious need for a pic im pretty sure we can meet up. and must have a way of contacting me? ya no shit the board allows you to pm or email me. there are ur contacts. location? um look to the left under my name it says were im located.
But the pic one is ridiculous. On the biggest car message boards out there(fuel slut, LS1 Tech which is international), they dont even require you to have a pic, hell EBAY doesnt even require a pic to be posted, it just helps with your sale.
Sorry but i find some of the rules ridiculous. i understand you had “problems” with ppl whoring the adds, but not having a pic is a way to delete an add? give me a break
It takes two minutes to take a picture and upload it to the page. It takes more time than that to type a listing in the classifieds. If you’re too lazy to do that then you don’t need to have an ad up.
I’m sure a lot of people don’t wanna drive all over Pittsburgh for shit just to see it. Springdale is a haul for anyone in Pittsburgh or south.
When a multi platinum international board like LS1 Tech requires pictures then you can say “wow my local forum started that!” The first thing anyone asks for is pics, if you can’t complete a classified ad with just a few details then you don’t deserve to sell here.
Its the rules, read them… no need to post a thread about the rules that you do not like. When you 1st posted your for sale thread did you read the thread that says
READ BEFORE YOU POST AN AD***
because if you did, you would see what the RULES are… therefore there is no need to post a thread about it.
When i buy something the first thing that comes to mind is can i see it?? Rather than every other post asking for pics i feel its just easier to post them. Probaly help you sell whatever it’s your selling faster also.

the rules make sense… saying we don’t allow pictuers doesn’t make sense, but saying you HAVE to have one means that you can’t just go up and type some random bullshit, i kinda sorta want to consider maybe selling my racecar partz… no… now someone SHOULD plan out what they want, get it ready to be sold, take pictures and make a post that has all the information so that there is no need for questions.
i read the rules when i first joined years ago, and that was never an object to have pics with ur post. b/c u had a few members whore the adds doesnt make it need to have pics. how that cleans up the adds idk, ppl post shit all the time on craigslist with out pics and buy with out seeing pics. i jsut dont see how one soo desperatly needs to have a pic to sell something, just a stupid rule in my idea, not crying, this is a suggestion thats all 4doors, soo please go fuck urself.
I have NO problem with that at all and can see the point. I just hope its enforced across the board because my post was deleted (even though I stated within the day I would have pictures up when I got home from work) and yesterday I was looking at a few posts and there we no pictures? Whatever I respect the rules and will keep it in mind for future postings.
See thats the thing, you CANT put I will add pics later, or tonight, etc… if thats the case, you wait to post the ad once you have the pics. Also, we are trying our best to clean it up, obviously were not on here 24/7 and some stuff will slip. The only items that can be posted without a picture are NEW IN BOX, UNOPENED items.
I like the rules too… everyone wants to see pictures, plus in this day in age everyone has a digital camera, camera phone, or access to a digital camera. If you don’t then you shouldn’t be selling stuff on the internet to begin with.
I don’t mind, I totally understand. I will keep these rules in mind for future postings. Question: In the future if I was to have Penguin tickets or someone had concert tickets/etc this wouldn’t be an item you would need to have picture for would it?
Well a ticket would be considered a new in box item, as it is not used. So you would not need a pic. Now if you were selling a used ticket stub from the Superbowl, etc… then you would need a picture.
I completely agree with the rules for posting classifieds, and thier utility as far as skimming off the douche layer…but what happens in the case of someone who doesn’t own a digital camera? What if they are having issues transferring images or whatever…and buying a new one or repairing the old one is not financially in the cards (maybe that is why they are selling something). Selling on craigslist or e-ghey is a crapshoot at best, and with the pic restriction they are cut off from the target market, i.e. car enthusiasts that are very local to them.
** I realize that exceptions would be virtually impossible to enforce, and an across-the-board requirement is the easiest thing to control. Just curious…
