this weekend i installed new ceramic coated LT headers along with a new Y pipe. In the process i removed the AIR and EGR along with the AC (yes i know AC is nice but mine wasnt charged, i never use it and it took all of 10 mins to remove) I was suprised that i actually saved 43 lbs off the front end in doing so.
here is a comparison
my car:
my buddy’s Z28 (conviently sitting in my garage) for comparison, its basically stock
Now get rid of the ABS, the traction control box, and do the wire tuck. Makes it look like a million bucks in there  If you want to go baller-sauce you can do what it takes to remove the rest of the A/C in the car, it involves pulling the dash, but it cleans it up even more
Looks good. I had my A/C compressor out a few weeks ago and really wanted to just ditch it and save the weight but I’m a pussy and need A/C. Did you take out the actual AIR pump too? Mine’s still hanging out down there
PS: Now if you ever need to get to your passenger side motor mount, it won’t be a ridiculous bitch with that compressor out of the way. Ugh 43 pounds off the front end is tempting…
What’d you get the headers with EGR provisions for?
What about cars that don’t come with it?? What about the fact that once you start putting different sized wheels on the car, and change up the factory weight distribution, that factory abs doesn’t work properly anymore, and can be more dangerous :rolljerk:
What about the people that disable ABS because they prefer to be in full control of the car and do the modulation of the brakes them selves, and not have the car drive for them.
What exactly did you take off? Just the condenser, accumulator, compressor and the lines in the engine bay? If you take that shit out, the windshield defroster won’t work anymore, correct?
If you meant what I’m thinking about thats a terrible idea (drilling hole and hiding wire harness’s in pass fenderwell). Getting into an accident with all that stuff there would suck big time.
