Hit up Marcus with a PM. He had it done on his Viper by a guy in Canada and you cant even tell its there. Took the guy like all day, but hell its worth it!
LOL, I referred him there, he did my car 2 years ago.
The name of the company is Pro-Tint, in Hamilton Ontario. They can cut the pre-cut kits there, as well as make custom kits on your car. Not the cheapest- but definitely the best. They also use larger rolls than other places, which means that they can cover larger areas with a single piece, no seams.
I cant understand the negativity towards the clear bra either, you cannot even see it on my car unless pointed out or with certain lighting, and the same with Marks car. Expect to be there all day with a full kit.
Under no circumstances would I attempt to put one of these kits on myself. Leave it to someone who does it day in and day out. You wont have bubbles, fingerprints, creases, etc. Thay have special methods for applying that aid in streching it over areas that normally would not accept the covering due to shape.
Lastly, everybody who has had a kit installed by someone down here that I know, has had issues of one type or another. I think Pro-Tint is the best by far around here…take it as you will, but that is the only place that is recomended for the Vipers.
Yeah, putting these things on is a time consuming process. Even with Klemanns car, not all the pieces that came pre-cut are on the car. Some of them we took one look at it, and said “fuck that, another day.” . That day still hasn’t come.
I have the ENTIRE front of my car done, mirrors and wheel wells. I paid alot but its worth it. Wont damage the paint with all the damn bugs in the summer. It took 9 hours to install and it wa done professionally. You will definately need a steamer to do this. Thats a definate FYI
Curious, how does this effect waxing etc? IE your paint is your paint under the clear bra, if you wax the rest of the car up with some mack daddy wax, it can’t look the same, can it?
I work weekends and don’t really have a free day to wait anywhere… but I would if I had the time. So: Is there any place closer than ontario that I would be able to drop it off? I know people have mentioned tint shops - any success locally? Also, would you guys who’ve had it done professionally mind hinting at an installation cost?
mine cost me $600 canadian. 9 hours of labor. Material is approx $350. Mine was put on my car, then cut while it was in place. He made mine as he went along, so I get much better coverage than a pre-cut one. If you want a kick-ass job, go see the guy that did mine. Can you tell I have it on?
