Clutch Problems: No Kickback on my SR-swapped S13

Hey Guys-
I just encountered a problem with my SR-swapped S13.

Here are the symptoms:

  • My clutch goes stratight to the floor and doesn’t kick back
  • I’m not able to engage any gears

My thoughts:

  • I’m guessing there’s something wrong with my master cylinder or the hydraulics.

The clutch is an Exedy twin-plate and is fairly new, so I don’t think its the clutch. What do you guys think?

Definately hydraulic

bleed and adjust that sucka

Amen to the hydraulic comments.

Check the slave cylinder, I had a nasty leak in mine and it and caused the exact same problem.

Did you check your clutch fluid? it could be low?

Could be as simple as bleeding the clutch. But if this just happend all of a
sudden then you probally sprung a leak somewhere along the line.

I think definitely is a leak or hydraulic problem. I did hear a leak when I was pressing on the clutch and had the hood popped off yesterday. There’s alot of fluid left in the cylinder.

Now, for the second step:

Anyone care to let me know how to fix this? Keep in mind I have absolutely no mechanical experience whatsoever.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

happened to me once. the seal right behind the master cylinder (just above the pedal) cracked or something and the fluid drained itself. had to replace the master cylinder and bleed the clutch and all. but anyway, it’s definately hydrolic. bleed it like everybody else’s been saying and if it does it again after a few days, you got a leak somewhere for sure. check for small puddles and check your line too, could be rusted somewhere.

good luck!
