he upgraded his turbo
Dear god
I love tc’s merely for the fact that everyone you see has a hot chick driving it. it’s becoming the new sunfire/cavalier/eclipse/jetta. Eventually the fat chicks will start buying them and putting princess stickers/banners all over them and ruin that as well.
/rant
i’d hope he has an adamantium block for 150psi…
the ss is a nice car to drive. when driven right it can haul some ass. ive driven the certain ss a couple times and its fun to drive and handles really really well. the 2.4 verson from what i have heard is they are testing it out then their goal is to do a turbo 2.4 motor. its just rumors but the 2.4verson is pointless right now. heavy platform and not enough power
Please tell me you dont actually believe your boy is Pumping 150 Psi through his srt-4?
That was a little bit of hyperbole on my part…I think he actually claimed ~30.
GM’s ecotec racing car > that

still no way
back to scoffing as using a supercharger. What the hell do you mean when you say.
[QUOTE]it’s a supercharger so it can’t add THAT much boost. it’d blow the engine, would it not?]
Everyone on here will tell you how much better a turbo is for a small displacement engine, but that purely for WOT in powerband performance. The super charger will give you a nice torque increace right off the line instantly. Also a turbo engine at partial throttle will have better fuel econ. They both have pro’s and con’s. When you think of what car companies are doing now a days, it makes perfact cents. They don’t care about cars anymore, they want to make money. 90% of the jackasses that drive a SS and then an SRT-4 will probably remark on how quickly the SS pulled out. Who buys a new car for its potential to be heavily modded? You didn’t. Don’t kid yourself.
Oh yea, i remember now… Either way unless is a built motor :bsflag:
The stock turbo’s way out of its efficiency range after 18 psi, so you can throw the BS flag up for even that.
The LSJ is a great motor, it will handle more boost then your motor any day of the week.
They could have also put in the 2.0L turbo ecotec that you will find in saabs. I personally cant tell you why they supercharged it, but they must have had a reason. But i would think its b/c they use a 2.0L ecotec in the GM drag car.
The reason there are two motors in the cobalt SS is b/c one is the SS supercharged and one with the normal SS. Just like you might find the trans am, and trans am ws6, or the wrx and wrx sti, and so on.
The Eaton M62 used on the LSJ is a good s/c. Obvisouly you will reach the efficancy point of a supercharger or a turbocharger. Why do you think people upgrade to bigger turbos and superchargers? So just b/c they used a supercharger doesnt mean its not good, like i said, even a motor that comes stock with a turbo will need the turbo upgraded as you go for high boost levels.
900+HP ON STOCK INTERNALS!!! :eek4dance
They might be stock parts, but they are all treated to handle that power.
Both you two need to read the book on how much of the stock parts are left on the drag car. They started with a stock motor and started pumping nitrous and boost into it till shit broke. As it broke they replaced it with aftermarket parts and started over again.
TC should probaably look at the book as well since the orginal monster was sleeved from a 2.2 Eco to a 2.0
This TC guy is really starting to get on my nerves because its evident he doesn’t know shit except for maybe his own car. There are so many posts I could respind to from him in this thread but a majority of my comments have already been made. So in closing…
Black Attack TC = :tool:
sorry man rados car in the end will smash the ecotecs. he has already gone mid 9’s after just 5 passes in the car. the 533whp dyno sheet is jotech street car scion TC. rado was up over 700whp at 22psi and is now closer to his target boost setting of 43psi the car is near 1500whp
lol this is going to turn into another bench racing thread curtosy of pittspeed…
