I have heard that you can ruin a set of coilovers if you drive a car with coilovers twelve months of the year. Ive heard the coilovers make a lot of heat when they move that much in the winter road conditions, because theyre not meant to move that much that fast. Now personally, this doesnt make any sense to me. But Id rather ask first than mess up some expensive suspension.
So is that true?
Only thing I could think of is the salt and snow corroding them, but heat wise I don’t know.
Hmm…
Thanks, although that doesnt help too much.
depends on the coilover quality as well, some may break from being too cold. are you looking for a particular set?
Either a set of Tein Flex, or some Silk Roads…
well the biggest reason i removed mine for winter was the height of the vehicle was just too low
Check the fluid thats in the strut… sometimes they’re only rated for … -5 *C … and frozen strut + a hard bounce = boom… Or so i’m told
