Coliseum Auto SAles

Anybody deal with these people i saw an ad in autotrader for a 98 240sx LE its going for 14k, heard that the dealership is kind of shady. Any thoughts on that?

got my car there. its a wicked car. got a sick deal…

but once i bought it i told him how he could have sold it for way more…

so he’s no fool.

I’ve heard COUNTLESS horror stories about this place - Me, as well as many others, ignore any postings on trader that they make because they’re tempting as hell most of the time… Do yourself a favor, ignore the temptation – it’s not worth it.

Care to explain why ignoring the temptation is best. You can’t just say to not buy from a company without explaination so give some examples please.

How about they bondo’d the frame rails back together in my old 240 (they were rotted to shit ,once pressure was applied from the jack everything just caved in) and tarred over it to make it seem like its in reasonable condition? and sold it for way too much $? ( i don’t even want to say how much, fuck i was an idiot back then )

you win some, you lose some? :dunno:

I would say that place rips people off most of the time.

The guy tried to sell me a 95 240 SE for $8000+tax… the damn car was burning coolant like no tomorrow… it had 151xxxkm on it, they patched up 2 spots where the car was hit (from god knows what) and tried to convince me that it was never in an accident…

Honestly though, I have no clue where they get these 240’s from usually…they always have couple of S14’s for sale.

to be perfectly honest, i never even considered this place when i was looking for an s14. when i saw the trader ad and the info, price was too high for a bone stock s14, and the place seemed shady. didn’t bother with them.

Good place, I got a fantastic deal on my car and the guy was honest with me. You guys are assuming way too much… Your 240 was probably bondo’s by the previous owner… why would a dealer bondo up a car, they dont even have a shop facility!

If the price is right what does it matter where the car is being sold.

scam artists, my freind bought a 97 talon from them,

let me list it off for ya

-door locks didnt work
-tranny grinded gears like a mofo, blew after 2 months
-bad clutch
-alternateor died after 2 weeks
-wheel bearings went shortly after prchase

  • horn didnt work
-said it was never in an accident, but it was, the fiberglass bumper gave it away, cuz well we took it off to put a stock bumper on and its was all cockeyed and shit
    -brakes were all fucked

my car wasnt PERFECT…

one door lock is sticky
one wheel bearing is a bit noisy
cracked headlight from minor front end ding

BUT he told me about everything and i got the car as is for cheaper than the already insanely low advertised price in trader.

I’ve taken it to the track twice and BEATEN THE ABSOLUTE CRAP OUT OF IT within the last month and a half…

clutch is still mint
brakes are still mint
nothing electrical has broken
heat is nice
a/c is nice
tranny isnt blown
engine is running strong
overall the car is A+

I picked it up for $7700 and its a kouki, beat that deal these days.

if you go right to the back of the store, there’s a body/paint room… when I was there, they had couple of guys working on some Jeep… banging out a bent fender and painting some stuff on another car…

I’m glad that you got a good deal and a car that’s in decent condition from them. But I guarantee you that more often than not, those guys rip people off and lie about the cars they sell.

that place is bushleage

i went and looked at a 93 hatch auto there 2 years ago and it was almost 6500 bucks, they put tire shine on it and a nice wax job to make the outside nice, but when i drove it the tranny slipped like mad, not that i would of cared since i was just buying a car for a swap but if someone was buying that to drive… when i told the guy he said i must have damaged the car… and once i went under the car there were fresh undercoating patches where someone had clearly undercoated over…

14k is waaay too much for that white kouki. I guarentee you they bought it for no more than 8-9g’s. They do have some brains as it seems they’re trying to cash in on the recent 240 craze.

Still, Anyone who spends that much is getting ripped off. Keep looking and you’ll find a better deal.

Hahaha when I went to look at a red chuki hatch there, the inside was so completely covered in armorall - it was ridiculous. I coulda cooked some fried on the dashboard it was so greasy. The car was shit, too. Rust in the trunk (billed as “rust free” on the trader), the front driver wheel well was soft… I didn’t even want to drive it at that point.

Sorry I didn’t get back to this sooner - I think others have provided plenty of example for me however

If one small group of guys has this many horror stories - like I said I think its worth it to ignore the temptation of their wicked prices.

In spilners case, it was a fantastic deal. Even if it wasn’t in great condition it would have been worth it to grab it and restore it at that price. He snapped that bugger up on the first day and if he didnt - it would have been one of the other 25 guys who tried (me included)

I’m not saying every single car sold there is sketchy, I’m just saying it’s not worth spending thousands of dollars on something that even has a chance of being a complete scam – because it wouldn’t be the first time someone got fucked by them.

Who knows, maybe spilner still has some bondo to find :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: (hopefully not, that thing is purrdy) let hurricane look that thing over and see how mint you think it still is hahaha

I’ve been underneath and its not mint, but its still in good shape. no bondo lol…

it’s been in a minor front end hit, bags didnt go off it cracked the headlight and the grill, no other damage was done.

for what i paid im happy.

if you see a good deal on trader, go check it out. so far both my cars have been found on trader not off of here, and both have been bought for thousands less than they could have been…

i have a story about coliseum even, once i went to see a 93 that was like $4000… i bent over and literally punched through the floor into the carpet. RIP OFF!!!

BUT i still had the sense to go check out my S14 when i saw it for sale and look what happened

thats all fantastic and all… but how much you selling it for? :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

hgahahaha alright im the guyt hat bought teh white kouki last week and overal the car is great except for small things. the paint chipped a bit on the driver skirt the fan is really loud, it drinks gas i dont know why, the service light wont go away. thats about it so far overall the car is beeing good to me.

did you pay 14k for it?
