Kinda makes sense to me. It was being used to taunt people of Mexican descent. Kinda like saying “hey, we’re American and you’re not!” I’m sure it’s really just a lazy way of putting those actions to rest. It’s harder to enforce racism than it is to just put an all-out ban on flags. When the line is clear, it’s easier to enforce.

No Im not missing the point. We live in the USA, the land of the free. No one has the right to say that we cant fly our own flag. It has nothing to do with being patriotic. Its just not right that hes doing that. I do agree tho that we should wait to hear more from a more trusted source

LONGMONT, Colo. For the time being, displaying the American flag is banned at a Longmont, Colorado, high school. The same goes for other national flags.
The temporary ban follows protests on immigration issues around the country, including one in Longmont, just northeast of Boulder. Skyline High School Principal Tom Stumpf says some American flags were used in a “vilifying fashion” by being waved in the faces of Hispanic students. He says in one case a Mexican flag was thrown into a student’s face. Stumpf calls it “misguided patriotism.”
Dozens of students protested the ban Friday.
One suspended student calls the ban “ridiculous” and says his suspension is “un-called for.”
The American flag is still displayed at the school in every classroom, in common areas, the gym, offices and on the school’s flagpole.

The mexicans were protesting tough immigration laws??? So are you telling me that they aren’t legally here??? They broke the law and we are going to be all pc about it by not letting other poke fun at them?? WTF? It’s just like when I am in traffic court and the person in front of me is bitching because they got a ticket for doing “7 miles over the speed limit”. You knew fully what the law was and you chose to break it anyway. We should use these immigration protests as a place to find illegals and deport them.
