For most of the day people were well behaved, and I was happy. I had a
great time.
I am aware of 2 incidences that may reflect on the reputation of our club.
Marco from Automotion out-burnout-ing signal when he left
boMex from our club spinning his car around on the gravel
The first incident really has nothing to do with our club, since the
Automotion boys have nothing to do with SON other than the fact that
they parked in the middle of our cars, and happen to drive 240s.
The second incident I witnessed first hand and was in the car at the time.
They would not let boMex leave even though the track had been closed for
about an hour, and the cars were not even getting ready to do another run.
I wasn’t aware that he had thrown rocks up at the drivers while spinning
around because the rear of the car was aimed towards the wall. It was
only today when DIP told me he hit the hot dog shed, and when some
of you guys told me that he had flung stones at the cars in the booth…
In the first case, we all know Marco likes to do things like that, and since
hes not a member of SON there is nothing we can do.
In the second case, Bing and myself are trying to come up with a way to
express our appologies on behalf of the club to DriftNation. With SON as
one of the main participants in all DN events, I think it is important that we
uphold a positive and mature image for our club. It is okay to clown
around, but everyone needs to realize that we can’t do this once we get
behind the wheel.
If anyone has any ideas of how we can redeem ourselves to DriftNation,
please let myself or bing know.
Let these incidences serve as examples of what NOT to do at future
events. We want to uphold a positive reputation in the community, so
we need to prevent stuff like this from happening again.

yeah berto knows all about Marco and the automotion guys, they pulled the same stuff last year. so any comments that he may have made with reference to 'the 240 guys" may have been influenced by the actions of the automotion guys and included us as well.
we all realize how important yesterday was to DN and how incidents such as those mentioned needlessly complicate matters.
lets leave this issue out of this thread for now and continue to focus on the positives.

SON is a great club, but some incidences last night were so uncalled for. DN is spending a lot of time and money to run an event like this, they have a responsibility to the teams and drivers. There is no time for silly stunts like those last night. It takes time away from everybody to deal with the situation.
Marco’s incident was so uncalled for and I personally dont hold SON responsible for that. I just hope people use a little more commons sense at future events. It would be a shame if a handful of people were responsible for ruining the credability that DN has worked so hard to acheive.
I think Gonad changed it because people started 4 different threads, so we
merged it into one, and made it the official thread so nobody would start
more threads on the event…
the rocks hit a few of my friends and some of the honda’s that were on the line infront of the son line. thats why he was so pissed and calling you out.
It’s amazing how all the other hundreds of guests were able to file out of the parking lot without “swinging the car around a little bit” or spinning their tires.
Comeon Bob, you know I have respect for you but don’t go defending Mike’s stupid actions just because he’s your friend and you were in the car. He made a mistake and did something stupid, just admit that.
Anyways, let’s just try not to do these things in future please people. Kendrick is absolutely right about people damaging the credibility of DN with these kinds of stunts. Keep it to the track (and empty parking lots ;)) where you’re not going to damage other peoples’ cars, property and persons. Have some maturity and self control.
If you want to make Alberto happy give him my resignation. I’ve been a mod and an RL for GTA: North for about a year. I think it’s about time I hung up my mouse and keyboard.
Maybe this is none of my business but I don’t think little heated arguments etc. should discourage us from being in this club, arguments and disagreements will always happen we are human and it’s in the nature of the beast. All we can do is try to get along as best as we can. I maybe new here and so far I have met many great people in SON but even the ones that chewed me out for things, Im not holding anything against them because we are all intitled to our own opinions and we don’t all think the same. In the end let’s not forget we are all on the same team and we are all here for the same reason. So boMex stick around dude!

It’s like a losing battle, and I guess the older members are just fed up with
the nonsense that goes on here as of late. This isn’t anything new. It’s
come to this point a few months ago.
What Mike (bomex) did was a litte dumb, but what the Automotion guys
did was even more uncalled for. But they got away with it because no
one came running to the scene. Maybe those Automotion guys need a
banner on their windsheild that reads HEY LOOK AT ME, I’M COOL :roll:
Mike’s frustration from not being allowed to leave made him do what he
did. Hell, while Mike and Bob were being told to turn around because
they couldn’t leave, they let some trailer out. :wtf:
Mike I hope you aren’t serious about your comment (about leaving).
The last thing I want to see is another member be like “I’ve had enough,
I’m leaving” and then come back a few weeks later to continue where
you left off.
If we want to protect the reputation of our club, then fine, send DN the
apology letter. I won’t argue, what DN did to hold this event took a lot
of work and money and I commend them for their work and effort. For
those that think otherwise, I like to see you do something similar.

Anyways…Why not everyone meet in a parking lot for everyone to settle their individual dipsutes. Rather then playing the secretary game and typing to each other.??? I would deffinetly think that would be the best SON gathering ever…
I’m not leaving the club or anything like that but I won’t be on the forums as much. I’m busy with work and tired of the boards being infested with toufers. I’ll still be at meets and such and there is much to be done with Mischief. If you really want to find me I’ll prolly be on NEO.
I think everyone is making a huge deal out of nothing. So the burnout was stupid cause he was trying to be cool or whatever. It was still kinda funny. Nothing bad came about it so it doesn’t matter. Spinning the tires is also not a big deal. I can understand if someones car got chipped then that person should deal with mike but since I really doubt anything happened from it, who gives a shit. Everyone needs to relax and not make such a big deal about it. Its like people dont feel important enough unless they have something to bitch an moan about. Just take it easy and enjoy life. Dont try and play police. I figure if no harm comes from it, all the power to ya. This all seems like highschool a little too much.
