First coat of paint on, wall tile going up and some cabinets going back in!
Wall tile done except corner round and the area where the stove goes (between stovetop and hood fan) Second coat of paint done. Need to pick out covers for the lights tonight or tomorrow.
Doug is setting the floor tile now
wow, that looks awesome
thanks They do good work. Have set hundreds of thousands of sq feet of tile. Floor will be done tomorrow and start moving things back in YAY.
Got floor tile almost all in, just have to move the fridge after it sets, and get the tile under there, and the last few pieces by the back door.
I think it looked pretty nice before you started ripping the hell out of it
your dog is awesome.
this makes me scared for when i get around to redoing my house’s kitchen. what’s the total cost so far (if you don’t mind sharing)?
I have no clue at all…Since he’s in the business, he actually had the floor tile laying around the basement for years, overage from a job somewhere. We got the floor tile comped for free from his distributor, since he is the #3 buyer in the area, and he does so much business, dude said here ya go. Threw in the grout too. So that was a big chunk to save.
Tile is all in except the little part under the hood fan. Grout is all in except under the fridge…doug will do that w/ the patch work he has to do once the corner round comes in and he can get that installed. I painted the back door today except we have to take the frame out to paint it so we don’t ruin the tint we just installed in there. Doug changed out the plugs/strike plates/switches (also installed the dimmer) also painted/installed the can light covers. Moving in some more cabinets and stuff, it’s all coming together. Doug will hook up dishwasher, oven, sink tomorrow. Then patch work here and there and we’ll be done Two weeks till countertop is done, and a week and a half till the new cabinets for next to the fridge come in. :faint:
walls grouted, floor grout started
Grout finished except touch ups…
Moving stuff back in…
Back Door painted
recessed lighting done…
LOL well he never finished it from when he did it the first time. See under the sink where the tile doesn’t go up to the cabinets? Also that trim piece between the tile and the dishwasher was off since I moved in 4 1/2 years ago
It was like that all the way around, there was never grout at the back door, and one skinny wall didn’t have any tile on it, he ran out and it was discontinued. So that would not be a big selling point Plus, he loves ripping shit up
damn, the guys that did the tile work is awesome. i have put tiles down and it takes lot of time and patience to get them straight. good job
same here. but i got too lazy to use the spacers i think i did pretty good free handed
Cabinets back in, dishwasher, stove and sink hooked back up, waiting on counter top and two new cabinets. Little details here and there to take care of touch ups etc.
this is how it looks right now
wow… that looks awesome! I like the handles on the cabinets!
Did you ever consider a decorative trim piece maybe 3 or 4 inches tall connect the two cabinets together that are seperated by the window?
Thanks No decorative trim pieces, hubby said since we are selling it, keep it simple :dunno: Can’t wait for the countertop to come in!!! LOL Plywood aint gettin it LOL
I love the handles too, unfortunately they are discontinued and we are getting in two more cabinets, probably have to change them out
On to the roof. It’s not coming off…they are extending it by a foot or something, and going to throw shingles on top of existing, also installed new attic fan. New gutters etc going in.
Wood floors for the den going in tomorrow. Engineered Maple. It’s a thin strip of maple fused onto tounge n groove and then treated/coated so it’s indestructable :bigok: 25 year guarantee that it won’t scratch etc.
Looks good, I love the house!
Wanna buy it? LOL
More progress being made…
Den floor before, trashed by dog nails…pardon the Boz there, where he wants to nap, he naps.
Starting the floor
about half way done…
Shingles are going up quick too
Those shingles… Owens Corning Desert Tan Architectural… I must have done 7 or 8 roofs with those. Architectural shingles weigh more so theyre more fun to carry, but it’s easy to layout the roof cause you can use scrap pieces for cuts.
The whole project looks good, good luck with the sale!
Thanks!!! We’re hoping to do this soon!!! He said the color was “cedar” but could have gotten something else when he went tho he changes his mind all the time, they all look the same to me
wood floor finished…have to install some kind of stone or tile at the hearth, but that’s it. They even kept the moulding and put it back on for me!!!
Dog’s don’t like change. Note Boz is ON the carpet and NOT on the wood…he won’t lay on the wood yet :rolf2: He usually lays on the wood b/c it’s cooler than the carpet…
