coolng fan

i was just wondering if i should get rid of the belt driven fan and get the dual fan set-up and hook it up to a switch??? does the belt driven fan decrease hp or performance at all??? or would it just be a waste of time?

one less pulley to drive, not much hp but some minimal gains

and you can buy a shorter belt to do that right???

It doesn’t really decrease hp to much. It is however inefficient past 3500rpms or so. A electric fan setup like altima fans, would be way better, at high rpms. But if you don’t run your car hard, then its kind of a waste.

However, having electric fans, does let you warm and cool ur car faster. A definiete plus in both summer and winter.

I got an tarus electric fan for sale. Single electric fan, its pretty good if its a street car. Easy to wire up.

i would come get that fan if i could get to brampton but cars not on the road yet:P… what cooling fan set ups work with these cars?? like could i use a cooling fan off of a sunfire?

Whatever you can fit in…but it MUST have a shroud that covers almost all of the rad.

Keep the stock cluch fan and shroud. You will never overheat. I’m going back to a stock fan and shroud.

Running the altima fans sucked up more hp than the stocker did. haha

i remember my buddy had a 240 a while back and whenever he got on the gas the fan would make a hell of a noise and thats why he swapped to a wired set up…but i cant remember if he had the sohc of dohc in it…i havent really driven the car over 20kmh so i dunno if the fan makes that noise (lol i live in a condo so i have only driven it in the parking lot)…do the ka24de’s make this noise??? or is it the ka24e’s?? because if it doesnt then im not even gonna worry about it

I never heard my old KADE fan or the CA18 fan. I bet his fan was all jacked or his belt was hurting, or maybe his top timing guide was fucked and making the noise…??

i dunno its hard to explain by trying to type it lol but if i could i would let you know what it sounded like lmao…i dunno i guess ill just leave it for now and see what happens…

Stay Stock I’ve never heard some one over heating on a stock fan and shroud…and i always hear peoples car overheating with aftermarket fans.

My temperature gauge has never risen above midway with electric fans and an RB25. Perhaps peoples fans turn on too late?

Either the timing on it screwed or they just dont have proper ducting…but have you ever been to the track with your set up?

Not yet. To be honest, a myraid of things would lead to overheating a few laps in.

lol. To be prefectly honest. You can’t properly gauge how well your cooling system works until you track it.

In the heat of the summer, my sr stayed at a nice 190, with the heater on and altima fans.

Took it to mosport and it woudl overheat every 8 laps or so.

If your street driving only, the stock shit is super good.

On track, its all about venting and ducting. At least thats what all the pro’s have told me.

if you are asking if you can remove your drive belt of you clutch fan?

than no, because it drives your waterpump

Of course a stock system will overheat on the track. That goes without saying, however in daily situations no probs with the electric fan. I figured that Was the context in which overheating was being discussed-and seems to be an issue with some.
