Factory electric fan OK for clutch fan removal?

Silly question…maybe so maybe no

i wanna take off my clutch fan cause it goes better without it ( i tried) but is the factory electric fan OK to wire up on a thermostat switch or do i HAVE to get a bigger one…i do mainly highway driving anyhow, anyone try?

I took mine out, running just A/C fan… no probs yet, been two years. I grounded out the relay, so the fan comes on in ACC mode.

good to know…off it comes!

i don’t even run a fan…well untill it gets a little warmer I’ll unlazify myself.
I ran stock AC fan and wired in a switch to turn it on in traffic…other then that if I’m moving I don’t have it on.

Good to run a temp sensor that trips it on for you when rad comes up to certain temp if your type to forget about it. It can overheat quick in traffic if fan isn’t on.

Andrew.

It might be good to note that this really only applies to lightly driven KA’s. If you beat an SR without a fan it will get hot pretty quick, even with a larger rad.

i run a AC fan wired to igniton power so its on all the time its fine

Also took it to two track days without a problem.

The only time it started to get hot was in a traffic jam in Montreal in the middle of August… around 35 degrees out. I put the heat on and it calmed down
