COVID-19 Pandemic Thread [NY Now Closes All Biz]

Yup

Also for anyone interested:

My SIL is currently working in Brooklyn in a Chinese Flu unit, and she/all her co-workers agree that enforcing masks will do absolutely nothing to stop the spread, it’s merely a political move to show action.

Science/peer reviewed studies > some greaseball from Albany.

One of the main portal of entries is through the eyes, so wearing safety glasses would be the better requirement, since they are impermeable and proven to be effective at preventing. This is baseless authoritarian bullshit.

here we gooooo…

…ooooooooooo!

Do you guys really think police are going to go around arresting or ticketing people for not wearing a mask? I’m being serious. I haven’t even seen a car pulled over in a month.

Well this happened, although I know it’s not the same thing:

The cops in Mi are def enforcing the rules. A guy a work with got a $1000 ticket like an idiot. I finished rebuilding the rear end in the truck and took it for a spin around the block at about 1am. I saw lights coming up behind me way too fast so I killed the lights and dipped behind my garage, cop car lighting up my my neighbors house.

I don’t see how any of this is constitutional. I have no doubt the cop would have tried to give me a ticket.

The two nights ago I was in my driveway and a cop pulled up and started questioning me why I was working on my trailer. I asked him to leave my property.

Maybe downstate.

I think it’s going to take years before all the court cases from this play out.

Interesting automotive related stuff. Ford is saying they think this virus is going to hurt the ride share economy and help the auto business. They think people will be less likely to want to ride in a strangers car. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Gretchen will be angry, no one will want to take public transit anymore either.

gretchen will be happy i think.

i cannot see how avg miles driven per person goes anywhere but down after this.

Ya I dont see how the airline industry doesn’t completely collapse. Not just domestically. I guess gretchen will be happy.

“Of the 397 people tested, 146 people tested positive. Not a single one had any symptoms.”

I would definitely be uneasy getting on a bus, train, plane or subway right now. I’ve always preferred the personal space of my car but right now it’s 100x worse.
