Actually…if the engine was in the front, the guard rail might have crumbled against the block. Yes it’s a big piece of metal, but the block is MUCH stronger than the body of a car which is thin.
Might the engine have ended up on his legs from the impact? Possibly. Might it also have prevented the GR from slicing through the car? Possibly.
We’ll never know…but I see what Dread was saying.
Actually if the engine was in the front, the guard rail might just skim right past the drivers side of it and still hit the driver. Maybe if it had a steering shaft it would of deflected the guard rail a bit…
Possibly. Or maybe it would have just hit enough of the block, if there was one there. Who knows. Too late now.
Theres no way a guardrail is going to shear through a block like it did the rest of the car, but who knows maybe he hit it in just the right spot to allow the guardrail to pass into the cabin with the engine in the front or not.

Obviously they were speeding, miraculously they both survived. However everyone should know the chances they are taking when they speed, whether the driver was driving recklessly or it was equipment malfunction, but to each there own.
Fortunately no innocent bystanders were hurt/killed in the accident.
