well im in the process of putting my car back together and having some issues. alittle info about the car was that i bought it as a shell and had a boosted ls/vtec. i how have a d15b2 converted to muilti injection. im using a D16y8 (97 civic ex) intake manifold and a odb1 tb.
the car starts up fine when cold. after 2 min or so the car stalls out and wont start( just crank). the following day it starts up just fine again and after 2min or so, it stalls out again. same.
things i noticed
intake air temp isnt hooked up
car can start and turn off as if normal if it just a cold start up
after the car stalls and just cranks, the upper rad hose build up pressure, each time i open the rad cap, it release alot of pressure ( unsure if that normal)
if needed any more info, please ask
i know for sure its not the fuel pump. but i was second guessing the ecu myself. i already dropped off a spare ecu to innovative and well see where it goes then.
I had something similar happened when I bought a BRAND NEW distributor from NAPA… got 5 miles down the road and it crapped out. Sat on the side of the road for 20 minutes trying to get someone to pick me up at which point it started, moved 5 feet, and crapped out again.
I touched the dizzy and it was hot as hell. The car would start only once it cooled off.
I don’t think this is a common problem, but worth checking to see if its hot.
i swaped dizzy already. same thing. i read up on h-t that it could a the main relay starting to go, as it gets warm, the contact gap widen and when the car is cooled, the gap is narrower. but the only problem i see with that is my car dosnt even get to operating temp yet sothe interior is pretty much the same temp. ill go double check things tonight after work
