i was gonna ask this before i go and ask on honda-tech.
Well its located right under the distrubutor
its out of a 1993 Honda Civic LX Sedan
d15b7
5spd
Let me know…
I dont know if this is the cause of the car having a hard start or what…but who knows…
If anyone could help me that would be great…here is what i have observe with the honda civic…
if i leave the car over night it seems to have a very hard start…
It cranks over and turns over but doesnt fire up.
It does this for about a good 5 sec…Then it fires up once and dies instantly.
So i tried to give it gas method…So i give hold the gas just enough like 2k and it stays running…but once i rev it once it dies right after taht.
When i give it a double rev. it wont rev the second time…it backfires
I think its a distrubtor/spark plug/Timing off? problem what do you guys think?
or can the timing be off?
Once it starts it idle about 1,500 rpm…it wont get any lower…any suggestion?
if the temp sensor is shot on the head this will lead to the car not starting once it ran for a few min…and the best place to get them is go to m&m and pull like 3 off one will work
its a pretty important that it is working properly. if you have the means, or know someone with a ecu set up for datalogging, give that a try. it makes finding shitty sensors a breeze.
I also forgot to say it has a check engine light…so im assuming that could also be the culprit… i guess the sensor was probably caked with oil so taht why i didnt see the sensor…but i will check it out tonight. and see what it could do for me! thanks guys
what code is it throwing ? that would also help a lot of us out
if you need one of us to tell you how to do that let us know …ill even post pic for you… but make sure you have the high priced “paper clip” to check it
you went through all the trouble of taking pics and making and responding to this thread when you could have just as easily pulled the ecu codes? come on now man, get the codes, then post if you still have questions.
the check engine light is off right now…it was on when i had it…it turned off when i was messing with the iac sensor last night it was slightly unplugged.
