I am curious to see if my computer can handle this game. My guess is no.
Crysis will no doubt be a fairly demanding game. It will require a good system to perform well. However, CryEngine2 is very scalable so lower end machines will still stand a chance. Here are the official, and complete system requirements for Crysis.
Minimum Requirements
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2.8 GHz (3.2 GHz for Vista), Intel Core 2.0 GHz (2.2 GHz for Vista), AMD Athlon 2800+ (3200+ for Vista) or better RAM: 1GB (1.5GB on Windows Vista) Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (Radeon X800 Pro for Vista) or better VRAM: 256MB of Graphics Memory Storage: 12GB Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c Compatible ODD: DVD-ROM OS: Microsoft Windows XP or Vista DirectX: DX9.0c or DX10
Recommended Requirements
CPU: Core 2 Duo/Athlon X2 or better RAM: 1.5GB Video Card: NVIDIA 7800 Series, ATI Radeon 1800 Series or better VRAM: 512MB of Graphics Memory Storage: 12GB Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c Compatible ODD: DVD-ROM OS: Microsoft Windows XP or Vista DirectX: DX9.0c or DX10
I’m half expecting my PC to DIAF. I meet the minimum and then some, but I don’t want to look at cheep textures and low quality shaders. Who knows though, it may be a very well optimized game

I’ve heard that they have made the game very playable on a wide system performance range. Nevertheless it might be time for me to upgrade to a 512mb video card at least.
Graphics are ok? Take of your shades and look closer. These are revolutionary graphics. It will only get better from here on out, but the pictures do it no justice. Seeing it in motion says it all. Then again if I remember your an xbox 360 fan? No consoles could even dream of running this game. So Im not sure what you are comparing it to, that would justify saying “graphics are ok”
I don’t think it comes out to people that aren’t pre-ordered or something until tommorrow or at least I think thats what I was reading on some of the Crysis forums…
Thanks for the link. I just played through the demo. Really cool game. Too bad my computer is the suck. Pixled, jagged, choppy…this gives me motivation to upgrade. New processor and video card should do the trick.
I have it running on all medium settings @ 1024X768 and it leaves alot to be desired (see: nothing too crazy, oblivion actually looks better). I told myself that once Crysis was out, I’d upgrade to a good gaming rig and it looks like that time is now lol
P4 3.2ghz, 1 gig ram, Nividia 7800GS. The game ran kind of crappy. Updated my video card drivers and OC’ed the card a bit. I have texture and water quality on high and everything else on medium, and the game runs fine. I do need a new system though.

If you were having problems no wonder I was. I have a 1.8Ghz AMD 64, 1.5 gig of ram, and an Nvidia 6600GS 256mb.
3.0ghz, 2 gig ram 8800 GTS, I started it at 1280/1024, 2x anti, all high… the thing fucking bogged hardcore. Turned it to 1280/1024 2x all medium, ran super freaking nice, the demo is sick. Im ordering the game as we speak.
