CTS-V Competitor? Chrysler 300C w/ Viper V10

No info on it right now (I’m sure Final GTS’s Viper alarm will go off and he’ll chime in) but here’s a meh youtube clip:

interesting. Will probably get Canyonero-level mileage though… 1 highway, 0 city

Unexplained fires are a matter for the courts!

Not sure why they would invest in doing this to a 10+ year old platform, unless it is a mule for something else.
Also the V10 is not a drive by wire platform so you can not add ESP to it and therefore it will be illegal to use the engine in a couple years when the new laws go into affect.

As for gas mileage the new CTS-V is 12/18.

Edit update:
Here is the ESC mandate:
“The United States was next, requiring ESC for all passenger vehicles under 10,000 pounds (4536 kg), phasing in the regulation starting with 55% of 2009 models (effective 1 September 2008), 75% of 2010 models, 95% of 2011 models, and all 2012 models”

That looks exactly like the current gen 300C… I’m thinking that was just a custom swap?

Since it was posted by Chrysler in their own blog obiviously they are hinting something.

I have heard stories of AWD SRT-8 Nitro’s and other custom swaps they do just toying around and those never see the public, which is why this is interesting.

AWD V10 300C? But what about heaters? Someone must have had burnouts on the mind to be considering a V10 into a sedan…

Retarded. Explain why a 300cc needs even the srt-8 package except to roll on 26inch wheels…

You have been on NYspeed since 2005 and you are asking the members why a car needs larger displacement and higher HP?
The word “need” is not really applicable on this site.

Now if you are questioning the need for super sedan in the marketplace then that is a different question.

This is probably the worst idea ever. Why would you want a 4500lb pig? And it doesn’t even give you BACON!

this idea is so retarded 95% of this board would love to drive one, fuck off wannabe broke haters

I drove an SRT8 300 and i was very impressed, i believe it is built on the mercedes C class plateform? I thought it was pretty badass!

a 300 is like twice the size of a C-class. If it’s off a Daimler platform it would have to be a bigger one or seriously stretched…

Having had a 300 rental down in Florida that was BRAND NEW, and the interior literally fell apart around me, as well as the brakes feeling like dogshit, and the trans shuddering at idle like it wasn’t hitting on all the cylinders (probably their pile of shit cylinders on demand not interfacing with the torque converter well)… there is NO WAY I’d want to drive one with power.

Old school E-series

The Chrysler 300 is based on the rear-wheel drive Chrysler LX platform which features components derived from the W210 Mercedes-Benz E-Class of 1996 to 2002. Shared components include the rear suspension design, front seat frames, wiring harnesses, steering column, the 5-speed automatic transmission’s design, and a derivative of the 4Matic all-wheel drive system. The Chrysler 300 also features a double wishbone front suspension that is derived from the W220 Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

no sideways into second gear no care.

I have always thought that these were one of the ugliest cars I have ever looked at.

Ahh,

I didn’t like how big it was, but to me when i punched it, it felt like it was much smaller, it really moved out very well IMO. I don’t think I would ever buy one though.

My alarm went off, I got here as fast as I could!

The 08+ Viper V-10 is Drive By Wire. There is also this crazy fuck with an '04 that runs a '10 engine platform that has FBW as well… lol

could be… would be obvious with the hood open. It could also be a Dodge “Toy”… I swear these guys drop 6.4’s and V-10’s into random Chrysler cars on their coffee breaks. It wouldn’t surprise me if this is one of the new cars to keep the Viper engine line alive for a couple years.

If you are looking to set world records… you arent looking at a 300. This is for the 300 lovers who just NEED MORE… seems pretty simple to me.

Riiiiiiiight. I am sure that brand new car had all those issues. Or did your domestic hating brain conveniently forget that it was “brand new” right after it was put back together from running into a utility pole at 65?

Lol, Dan I think 300 owners consist of black guys and jersey shore white guys, but you are 100% correct, they want more…it’s called “ballin”.
