just turboed my d16 starts right up then starts idling like a heart beat. checked for leaks in my intake man. but couldnt find anything. checked the seals on the injectors still nothing. im just dumbfounded! asked around still no help! what else could make the idle rough.
Tom, I’ll call you tomorrow morning. I just got home from work and have a ton of shit to do at the moment.
no problem it started right up tho reved accouple times no bad noises. and the engine light came on ha… just idles rough…
What is the cel code? Did you touch the intake mani? Did you drain the coolant for any reason? Is it a hunting idle?
i didnt not touch the intake mani just to take the injectors out and put 450cc injectors in. the coolant was low just filled it from the radiator. couldnt check the codes cause my code reader is at my work.
what do u mean by hunting idle?even after it warmed up it still stayed the same.
Hunting( up and down). So its a bumpy idle them, hiccups here and there?
no hiccups just up and down idle until i rev then idles for 2 seconds fine then goes to the up and down like a heart beat.
just to put it out there i have a 97 civic and had to convert to obd1 with a basemap
How will you inspect it if its obd1?
by swaping everything back. i kno stupid…
Have you checked your fast idle valve?? If not try cleaning it. Its located on the bottom of the tb.
So you put different size injectors in? Did you change the tune?
i did not tune yet
:picard:
What size were your old injectors?
You changed injector size, didn’t tune for them, and now wonder why your car is running rough at idle?
lol you doubled the size of the oem injectors and can’t figure out why it won’t idle.
I am so glad I don’t tune hondas anymore.
If you are using crome (or something similar) set your multiplier for 400cc injectors. That should help the idle, and then you should take it over to Mike.
mine did the exact same thing, it has to do with the basemap tune and 450cc. it can be somewhat corrected if you mess with the iacv, but it will just idle really high, but its better than the back and forth revving. dude i turboed the exact same car as you if you need anything pm me. o yeah and dont bother with taking everything out for inspection heres how you pass.
- get a safc
- get and obd2 extension harness with safc wiring already spliced in from boomslang
- when inspection time comes, swap in obd2 extension harness and stock computer
- tune your safc so your car is drivable
- pass inspection
- go home and take that stuff off and put your obd1 computer and harness back in
- done
if you have an questions let me know
and the basemap i assume is for your 450cc injectors im sure? dont boost the piss out of it, you will be sorry
NO
To be exact, it is an injector sizing issue, and setting it to 450cc will cause an injector latency issue.
Set it to 400cc, and take it in to have it properly tuned, or have it flat bedded to Mike’s.
his basemap is for his new injectors? …
unless im reading it wrong/he typed it wrong
