D2 Coilover Damper - Rebuild / Core program

springs are $180 shipped…

the rear D2 dampers used to have puny piston diameters, then they offered them all with the same diameter as the early front ones. that is all i know.

are you saying that you have an extra damper?

i might take it in trade, i’d have to see it first

It’s not a good one, I just did not send it back for my core. I don’t need another one but would be interested in springs, trade plus cash? Do they make a big difference over the D2 springs?

Thanks

it doesnt need to work, i’ll just rebuild it.

i’ll have to see it though.

i will have 5 sets (full sets of 4) rebuilt D2 dampers tomorrow.

$220 each set of four… or $140 for a pair

i will also offer a 10 day replacement warranty on them as well just in case what was rebuilt on the damper was not the problem.

please do not buy them unless you are going to install them asap.

if you buy and dont install for 3 months the warranty is void so dont make things awkward.

NO ONE gets dampers without giving me their’s FIRST…

no loans no agreements no borrowing nothing…

if this core program is going to work i need perpetual inventory and there is no excuse.

if one of your dampers is not reusuable, physically damaged, i will not accept it.

Just to clarify BING. Are you selling them for 220 bucks, or do you have to have a set of 4 to exchange them for 220 bucks?

Was not sure and thats just how I read it.

CVM07

gotta be exchanged…

not straight sale.

Bing, Andy has the damper you gave me.

Call him and discuss what kind of bracket/clamp you would like him to make… but it sounds like you already have something on the go. He is awaiting your phone call to go to the next step.

Theo

i have 20 dampers in my possession now.

only 3 sets left = 12 dampers…

only enough for 2 more sets, thanks Cahil

hey bing,

you only have a few sets left for now? or ever?
cuz im trying to trace down some D2’s to have rebuilt, but if your not going to do the core rebuild program anymore ill stop looking.

just let me know, cuz i kinda want to try these rebuilt ones.

Rob

i’ll be sending in the cores for rebuild as well but not right away.

i am too disorganized right now with all that is going on.

also, thus far 2 of the cores that i have accepted in return are not reuseable, meaning that the amount of sets i can do will continue to decrease as more and more of the dampers come back defective.

update:

I have to reiterate how strict i have to be with this program.

every time i do a full core for someone i find that some of the dampers they are returning suffer from issues i cannot have fixed…b

corrosion and dampers being unadjustable for whatever reason are the typical reasons why i cannot use the core dampers.

because of this, the amount of useable dampers in circulation will continue to decrease as more and more people return theirs for cores. Also, i imagine that people driving on dampers for longer will have an even higher rate of unusable dampers.

because of this…

i will no longer be doing cores for partial sets, ie. 2 dampers.

i can only do the core program for full sets of 4.

second.

i WILL NOT give you the dampers before you send me your cores…

this is particularly true for out of province guys.

it is simply too much risk.

even out of province guys that are buddies have still lagged for months on returning cores and it just isnt feasible to carry on this way.

very recently i was told that Tanabe charges $600 per damper to be rebuilt… so this is a steal of a deal…

i do not want to raise the price ($200 for set of 4) so lets keep a reasonable amount of dampers in circulation.

Bicknell, the company that redoes the dampers, was excited to hear that the program is working out well.

in their off season, which begins soon, we’ll be playing with different specs and oil content etc.

not sure if revlaving is going to happen immediately because the shims are not identical to the ones they are familiar with but we shalll see.

bing, just to make sure people are not mis informed, these are not full rebuilds like you would get from tanabe, they are just recharges the internals are not replaced. However i have been driving on my re-charges for the whole summer with no problems at all

actually jesse that is not true, if it were true i would have said that from the start. it is true for some dampers and not for others.

there were dampers that were totally taken apart and inspected and although the internals were not modified in any way the shock oil may have been changed.

regardless, any damper after the rebuild that was deemed not to be useable was taken out of the program.

jesse, please ask me before you go trying to speak for me, that way you dont post up incorrect information.
