Dad and I decide to purchase and restore a 1974 Challenger...

My dad’s friend from his old neighborhood growing up offered to paint the car cheap if we do the more major repairs/prep where he just has to make some small tweaks/smoothing and spray this thing. Finally convinced dad it was time to replace the exhaust, so we did stainless longtubes and 2.5" header-back from summit.

Then dad yanked all the trim and weatherstripping, fenders, and a few other things and we trailered it over to the guy’s shop.

then we pulled the hood and hinges, since dad knew there was some fuckery hiding at the mounting points for the hinges.

So I cut all that shit out to take over to my shop and make up patch pieces to weld in and linish smooth. I’ll get to that probably next week sometime.

Nice work, I want one of these in such a bad way!!!

Welded in the patches I made off-site last night and made dad grind them smooth

Little filler and sanding and they’ll be good to go.

Looks great!

Amazing choice

Finally into re-assembly, dad’s old neighborhood friend has taken quite some time blocking and sanding and touching up the body before finally spraying it. I went over there yesterday to help my dad mount the front clip and align everything with a fender washer kit and we got it all dialed in pretty damn good for a '74 mopar. Got the bumpers on and started getting the trim on, dad’s gonna finish up the rest this week including the door panels and such. should be finding it’s way to cruise nights at warehouse and stuff like that soon.
