Dad's New Toy

well my dad finally bought something…lol. He’s been talking about getting a summer toy forever since he sold the vette like…12 years ago. anyways, he’s always had old school muscle growing up…so here is a taste of nostalgia. not my first choice… but he seems to really like them… at least it looks rather clean and straight in the pictures. he just wants something to cruise in really.

1970 Monte Carlo SS 454

hope i can convince him to put a top end on those cubes

i would just like to put some simple bolt ons on it for now. i dont know how original he wants to keep it. the engine is out of a 74 with a cam, but everything else is #'s M. stuff like an electric fan, manifold/carb, headers, and heads and cam would really wake it up imo

Automagic :frowning:

Automatic with a stall will almost always walk a manual car.

:thumbs up: to montes

sweet car.

awesome car

nice motor too

glad he got that.

looks nice.

and to the idiots who say automatic, you know nothing. so quiet.

Damn, i know you were rootin for a vette

still a nice “dad” crusing car

i didnt know they put that name on those, whats the difference between a carlo and a chevelle?

although much of the body and structure were shared with the Chevrolet Chevelle (firewall, windshield, decklid, and rear window were the same), adding new front end sheetmetal, wider C-pillars, and new rear fenders. Bulges were added to the fenders to create a more muscular appearance. The Monte Carlo also had the then-fashionable concealed windshield wipers.

nevermind… longer front clip. for nascur. siqq.

different cars

now that is ALOT of metal. nice ride.

Nice Monte. 70-72 Monte Carlos have been gaining in popularity and value lately

like the differences between a transMARObird. i get it.

its cool

i just never knew they badged chevelles as monte carlos.

ive only ever seen the second generation monte’s.

he actually still might be getting a new summer car… depending on how the year goes.

zo6 has been out the window for a while now. i was the one looking for a vette. if he got anything i think it would be the XLR since he can get a real good price on one. those are cool cars

monte carlos and chevelles (malibus) are completely different cars mang. totally different body styling.
