+1 Does it shift to a different program if it’s not in OD or something? Last that I knew turning OD off kept the truck from shiftin into 4th gear, to keep the tranny from hunting and pecking while cruising on the highway while towing something.
I don’t feel like searching but didn’t you give up street racing in another thread a few days ago ?
EDIT: Alright I searched, I understand now…
on a normal 46RE, it doesnt really do anything. BUT, with the shift kit that i have, it changed the shift points and holds 1 and 2 out for an extra few hundred RPMs. when it gets up to the ‘shift point’ in 3rd, i hit the OD button and it goes into 4th. like is aid, on a truck with a 46RE it wont make a dfference, but with the shift kit i have, it does change the non-overdrive shift points a little. i also like to hold 3rd out a little longer because in its upper range, it picks up a little bit so i like to use as much of 3rd as i can.
and for the record, this all eneded up as being funny (untill the part where we almost died) and i wasnt even racing him then. we were on the way back and Roots pulled up next to me and there was no1 behind us and we just went for the hell of it. when we got back to Mighty, the kid in the Acura came up and said he wasnt trying and he wanted to go from a stop. Kevin716 then proceded to tell him that going from a dig was quite possibly the worst way to race his car, and he was like ‘well what do u kno about Acuras?’ and Kevin pointed at his car and said ‘i have one’ and then he just got in his car and left.
Mike your stories always make me laugh.
i think i need a custom title that says “resident idiot” as i feel that best describes my place on this board haha
