who knows… but its the same car. same platform.
both are w-bodies

for the price of a GTP you received A LOT of performance, and A LOT of luxury. its a great comprimise for what it is.No other car in its category can really outdo it.
On all platforms
Mustang > GTP for the same price. adn you forgot about the car that first started the S/C 3800 the regal GS

wrong… the Riviera had it… then they nixed it, and gave it to the Regal
and I’m sorry, but the Mustang does not have the same comforts as the GTP, as well as the standard options, luxuries etc etc.
Mustang is a pony car.
GTP is a luxury sports sedan/coupe
its more competition for the Nissan Maxima, Cadillac CTS, Audi A4. etc etc
Where it may not win in all categories, it outshuns a lot of the competition.
the gtp has the 3800 series III s/c motor and the monte as well as the impala SS have the series II s/c motor at least that’s how it was in 03

20hp diff
04 GTP 260hp
04 SS 240hp
Drivetrain is still the same.

I know nothing about the Rivs, except their last body style, had the 3800 SC motor.
gtps are faster than mustang gt’s stock and they are more lux than race car but are they that much more money.

nope, the riv never had a lt1 in it always powered by the buick motor. just like the rest of them

unfortunately youre a tad off
a good driver can put a 99 Mustang GT into the high 13’s.
theyre close, but theyre not going to beat a GT stock for stock, equal driving

:bsflag: the new GT will smoke the shit out of a GTP or equilant

i agree,
97greengtp is 13.6 with 1 size pulley smaller and an air intake.hes beat a few im aware of.sleepergtp is 13.9 and heath is 13.8 all same mods.for a front drive v6 heavy car that kicks ass-why should the v8 pony car need mods/ nos to beat the fwd v6 unless it cant produce hp???

this is the same as the Z06 vs cobra argument.
