Highly likely that the car didn’t see the bike while turning into that place in the opposite direction.

I can understand how bikes are hard to see when approaching from the opposite direction, and the small profile of the bike often either made it seemed it is further away or hard to judge its speed.

I am actually very paranoid about situation like this and I usually will flick my high beam furiously to make my presence known.

That’s even a worse idea.

People will mistake that as you flashing them in, or warning of cops ahead encouraging them to take side streets frantically depending on their legal situation.

lol, yeah could be; but seemed to be working for me so far. I slowed way down on situation like this anyway, that might help if they still decided to pull something.
