Decided enough was enough...

Good luck.

Gotta love it. Hope this bodes well for you, you seem to have some good ammunition for it.

So after my email to Scott Bieler, President of West Herr, he personally called me and told me that he will be replacing the rear rotors/pads and changing the O2 sensor all free of charge. Big  to him understanding my situation and we talked for a little while. He is a good guy and totally knew where I was coming from.

Glad you’re getting it taken care of.

 and a I read it wrong the first time and thought you said he personally was going to replace them.

That would be priceless. haha but part of me feels bad that some service guys probably got ripped a new one after Scott saw the pictures, but part of me is glad that its getting taken care of. What really sucks is that they probably won’t think twice about doing it again…unfortuantely it should be the other way around.

They did my brakes before I got it and they put shit pads and motors on, get ready for some squealing

I’d plan on swapping the pads out anyway, since they’re going to use the shittiest ones available.

Probably be smart to back each lug off and torque them properly when you get it back because now that the service department is pissed you know those lugs are going on with an impact.

I already bought 4 drilled/slotted rotors last night w/ ceramic pads. I’m just hoping that they wont swap in new pads/rotors w/ the shitty caliper thats on there.

yup, really that is the only way anything gets done there. good to hear you got it taken care of

I had a feeling it was going to come to this when you said it happened to you. I knew what to do right away. Lets hope they don’t pull some dumb shit on me when I go to get it.

awesome, i got that same “value car” line. shits great, you can spend $12k and your car is still considered a “value car”

they most likely will just fix the issue 100% at this point. ie try to make you think it was an honest mistake, but in fact they were trying to be cheap and you called their bluff by causing a scene and contacting the head of west herr

who’d you go through to buy it? pm me if you dont want to post it, just curious

It was Toyota of Williamsville. I love the fact that most people think that a 24 year old is not capible of being smart enough to get shit done. They were totally suprised when I hung up and they thought they had the upper hand and 30 minutes later they were calling me to tell me they were doing pads/rotors and the O2 sensor.

They just called me to tell it was done so I’m having my dad go get it and bring it to me because I am stuck at work until 7.

Good night to try out my new brakes. They are so much better now. The vibration that was caused by the rear wheel is no longer there when I hit the brakes and the car runs so much better with a new O2 sensor. Gas mileage is up and I am a very happy person right now. I think this thread a good thing considering the fact that now you know what has to be done if you ever have warranty problems from West Herr.

Also I know I may have contradicted myself in this thread about not griping over the brakes and just doing them myself. However, after they tried to get me for $400 to fix something they should have fixed from the start, I was furious and I was going after them for everything they deserved.

Good work. I hate people that fold easy and let companies fuck them over. You did well. 8)

Got a couple shots today as I was out before the rain hit.

Just for reference, here is a before shot.

And here is the after of the brake.

Why thank you Fedex!

Who can flash the ecu on this car for me? This morning coming to work, I was passing a car and I got on it the throttle and the check engine light flashed a few times. Apparently it is a misfire code and either the ECU needs to be flashed or a coil is going bad. Anybody ever here of these problems?

I’m here for it now. But don’t know anything about it

Thanks dick. haha

I guess I just need someone with a code reader to tell me what this code is that it is throwing. The dealership wants another $95 just to diagnose the code. This is getting rediculous. I’m starting to wonder what exactly my 30 day warranty covers?
