Deck Swap... EDIT: AMP Hookup help!

So my car already has a deck installed and it needs to be replaced. I have my old deck that I am going to be throwing in, but when I went to check it out to see how I would go about taking the old one out, I was baffled :?

How do you remove the plastic cover thing to get at the deck? The plastic thing that surrounds the heater stuff as well as the radio etc. I couldn’t see any screws holding it in, and yet it stays solid.

Sorry if this is a noob post, but im a noob!

Chilton’s didn’t give much insight on this particular problem and I dun wana break something

Thanks guys

pull it out from the bottom below the shifter as it is only help in by 6 clips and then it will expose everything

thought so! thanks man

also, kind of a major shift in topic here, but how do you get the antenna nut off of the power antenna at the back? I worked at that bastard for like an hour (totally messing it up :? ) and it wouldn’t unscrew… any ideas?

hmmm maybe you will have this problem, well atleast my speakers were powered by amps and i couldnt figure out WTF it wouldnt work, then i looked at saw them… so you gotta connect the amp power etc etc… if you run into that problem.

where exactly did you guys put your amp power through the firewall? The cable that goes from the amp to the battery.

Its driving me absolutely freaking nuts (and I would rather not drill through the firewall unless I absolutely have to)! :grrr

Edit: BTW Typh00n, pulling from the bottom worked like a charm

there are a few holes on the pass side where the heater core comes in

yup, got some help from a mechanic that used to work on Nissans and we got er beat. He managed to get it through a grommet on the passanger side and I finished the install yesterday.

Sounds super awesome :drinkers:
