Deferred Payment Program *DISCONTINUED*

This is an extension of this thread: http://www.son240sx.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18054

After some intense planning and lots of very helpful input from a few SON members I’m going to be offereing a deferred payment program to SON members.

I’ll try to keep this as short and sweet as possible:

I feel like the best way to beging to explain this clearly is to give a detailed real world example.

Little Joey wants to buy a set of coilovers for his new 240sx. He finds a great deal on SON for brand new coilovers! Only $1000.00! but since little Joey is still in school and only working a part-time job, he only has $300 in his bank account.

Little Joey is worried because this is such a good deal he knows his coilovers are going to be sold soon so he has no time to save money and Dad won’t lend him the $700 he needs to get them before someone else does!

Not to worry little Joey, John is here to save you. Little Joey would then come to me. Between little Joey and I, we would work out a deal that works for both of us. In this fabricated scenario little Joey and I briefly discuss his financial position and decide that he can give me a deposit of $250 right away and pay off the rest on a monthly basis over the next few months. Once I’ve got little Joey’s $250, I’m comfortable enough knowing that little Joey really wants these coilovers and knowing little Joey has a reliable but low income, I am willing to front the extra $700 on his bahalf to the gentleman selling the coilovers. And luckily enough for Joey, since the gentleman selling the turbo lives only a few minutes drive from me I don’t mind picking it up on his behalf – free of charge! In a few of months time, once Joey has completed his final payment to me - I will hand over his new toy and he will be off on his way, happy as can be with his brand new coilovers.

Now, this is course is a dream world scenario - there are other factors that come in to play. For example, if I would have had to drive 30 minutes both directions to pick up these coilovers for little Joey, I would’ve had to charge him a fee for this. Also, this scenario assumes little Joey sent me his monthly payment on time, in full, every month.

Another area which needs to be explained is actual fees. Although I’d love to help out at no cost to you, it just can’t be done - I’m just not that nice a guy unfortunately  These fees will be assessed on an individual basis - it depends on many factors such as; my first impressions of you if its our first time talking, my relationship with you if we’ve already met in the past, your current financial situation, the item at stake, etc.

There will be a few payment options, all of which will likely be electronic for legal tracking purposes. We will discuss these further later.

Unless stated otherwise, I will be giving absolutely no leniancy on payments. There will be a penalty for late and missed payments.

That said, I think you get the idea. This is a serious business, which I will be taking very seriously. I hope to be able to help people out by doing this and not running in to many problems. I know there are going to be people who will try to take advantage one way or another and all I can say about that now is - I’ve probably already thought of your bright idea and I’ve taken measures to avoid you being able to pull it off

Anyway, if you’re interested or have questions contact me via one of the following methods:

E-Mail: john@jetstreamhosting.com
MSN: jammin1911@hotmail.com
Skype: Jammin1911
or of course, PM here on SON

:thumright:

This is a good plan man. Is there a limit to how much you will loan, Like if little jimmy wants an Sr? Does big john go that far?

Thanks bud!

Money wise, the SR wouldn’t be a problem. Storage and transportation wise, it could get interesting - not saying it can’t be done but we would definitely need to figure something out.

To answer your question, I don’t have a set limit but I’m only willing to front so much on behalf of the average joe who I have no relationship with. If this is someone I’ve done business with in the past without issue, I’d be more than happy to front whatever they require in most cases.

Glad to see your going ahead with this man I’m sure it will be VERY usefull to the guys here.

As well, I’m happy your taking this seriously (as I mentioned) better safe then sorry and it’s nothing personal to have everything spelt out to protect you.

Good luck with it man and let me know if there’s anything else I can do for you ya.

Take care.

Easy 8)

Thanks Bruce, and I appreciate all of the help brother!

Just a note about John here. If you are thinking that the deal might not be around very long and that the lines of communication may be a little too long, don’t worry about it with John.

John is very efficient in answering any and all contact methods, I have been dealing with him quite a bit lately (in some high dollar dealings) and he has not kept me waiting at all in any of my questions, even if just to say “Hey Theo, I just called the guy and he is going to get back to me in an hour or so”.

John is a great guy to deal with, from a buisness stand point and on a personal level as well.

Theo

Hi Mr Johnny,

I want to buy a lamborghini murcielago but i only make $250 a month. I was wondering if we can work something out. let me know, thanks!

Thanks Theo!

And Mark. Are you coming to noc’s or not? We’re sitting waiting for you.

are you able to finance things as expensive as new vehicles? not actual brand new vehicles but say like a $10000 vehicle? i need a work truck

I’d consider it - but it just doesn’t really fit in to the idea.

Consider the fact that I’m holding the merchandise until paid off. Unless you want me storing your truck until your all paid up :stuck_out_tongue:

Damn i lived in oakville my whoooole life and didn’t know you and now i live in chatham which is about 2 and a half hours away…Im sure if ill need anything i could wire you the money…But just a question, where are you getting the money to be fronting anyone the money they need until paid off? Like say someone wants an SR and the clip is 4000 and the person only has 1000 on them at the time. How could you honestly front them the additional 3000 as well as still be upholding these agreements with others, i would think you would have to be a millionaire…BTW just a question, you’re not the guy i saw with chris bint in the dark green 240 are you?

Plus Adam Plus If your clip is going to cost you $4000, well first of all, you are getting it from the wrong place. Second of all, I am pretty sure that if you pay a reasonable amountable price for something, he will not have a problem selling it for about the same price that you were going to pay for it minus the amount that you gave him already…

bla bla bla, I am too dronk to say anything rightn now.

hopefullly I can fix this later

Adam! Adam Steele! Hahahah you bastard.

I’m John Maiurro. I’m also a buddy of Bint. We used to talk the odd time at IRHS - I heard you got a 240 ;] ;]

No, the guy in the dark green 240 is Dustin (Hurricane) on the boards.

I’m not a millionaire by any means, but 4000 isn’t a bit deal really - I save most of my money and I’ve been working since I was young. I’m a fantastic saver  I’ve earned every penny of my money but I’ve been working my ass off for it.

I hope this deferred payment thing works out. John is a great guy and can definitely be trusted, however, there might be some people that might try to scam John and that’s the worst that can happen.

For example, they could try to ask John to let them keep the part first and then they will pay him a certain amount every month or 2 weeks… but then they could just dissapear with the part. I think we need some sort of security thing such as a credit card number to be left with John when it comes to certain things like that.

It’s quite simple and John’s plan has a solution to that ^
You don’t GET the part, till you pay it ALL off. All you get is solid dibs on the part to make sure no one else gets it.

I totally understand that. What I am trying to say is that the person whom John is helping might say something like “Could you please just let me have the part first? I promise i’ll give you your monthly payments, etc” And John being the nice guy, might say yes and then things could get complicated after. Trust me, I’m pretty sure someone is going to ask John for the item first instead of letting him keep it untill the item is fully paid off. But of course, John can just say no.

MY GOD MAN!! i didn’t know it was you! That’s awesome man , well hmm i was just using the SR as an example i dont think ill be in the market for one anytime soon seeing as im not willing to spend 6k on a swap…well actually i might later on but who knows…I know there will be sometime im in the market for something good though…Ya ive had my 240 for about 2 years now and lovin every minute of it even though its bone stock lol

That’s awesome. PM Me if you’re coming back to oakville some time and we’ll go for a drink, or something.

Now back on topic;
Mark, Thanks for the comments! And I appreciate you looking out but like Solarian said - I will be keeping the part. People will ask for it ahead of time no doubt, and I’ll be tempted to give it to them no doubt… but lets be honest. If I did, and they screwed me… I’d be the sucker.

On the bright side, at least I’m aware of it ahead of time and it would be pretty unlikely that I would do a favor for someone unless I was very comfortable with them, knew where they live, know some of their friends even maybe, etc.

Like you for example, Mark! If you stole something from me - I would simply drive 2 minutes down the street, smash your windshield, pour pink paint all over your car and let it drip inside through the smashed glass on to your SAFV, etc.

Hey Jon let me know, I think I can help you with the hole getting Mark Back thing,

That could make a monday fun.

I have ^^^ on a deferred payment plan and it’s going alright.

Only issue people might have is that they keep paying you, and until they are fully paid off, you still have most of the money and the product.

Otherwise it should work well, just get deposits first.
