Defogger not working

Hey, this happened just today. When i first drove my car this morning to work, it was perfectly fine, but when i went to lunch which is 3 hours later, i noticed that the hatch defogger is not working. all lights work. but the condensation won’t go away.

Power goes to the lines, but dunno it doenstn do shit. does these happen alot? any solution?

i can also tell you that i replaced my hatched before, and i had to re do the ground wire for the whole hatch. the big one that goes under the roof lining. …any help?

could it be a ground problem?

if you replaced your hatch then you had to disconnect and re-connect like 7 wires of the hatch harness

how do you know the heating elements are getting power?

i had the same problem, i used a test light at the back on the def. lines and it showed power, but it wasnt working. So i took off the rubber boot on the driver side and somehow my hatch sliced the ground wire. most likely thats what happened to u hope that helps

I had a similar problem and replaced the switch on the dash (for rear defrost) for the fix…

does the light stay on (on the switch)? <- mine did not…

this happens to me also, the light is on the switch but but the frost does not go away no matter how long i leave it on for, this is gonna be a b*tch for winter eh? wen all that ice is frozen over…well for the people without garages lol

Check the grommet that goes between the hatch and C pillar

chances are the wires chafed and after 15 years got sheared clean off
