Thank!, I just shot you a pm on here.
99% of wnyoffroad, is full of douchebags who make the worse posters on this site look innocent.
I’ve never seen such an unpoliced forum with classifieds overrun by retards in my entire life.
Some cool guys, mostly dolts.
x2
I need to grab some pics, never got around to taking them.
I swapped the master cyl and booster from the 95, as its dual piston instead of single piston and just an all around better system. Also spent time replacing some brake lines ect.
I really need to find more time/motivation to get this done
Removed the 95 master cyl, and booster to do the brake upgrade
Installed in the 93
Random front shot
some suspension pics, because I pulled the fenders
one of the YJ longer brake hoses
Now onto the fun part, pulled the rear trim to see how bad the rust was hidden
Drivers side
not bad
Passenger side - FML
only one thing left to do
now lets tackle that arch
first cut
not good enough
second cut
Nice
removed the rear bumper
shit I cut out
I need to do the drivers side, the inner fender will need to be manipulated in the back corner, and then added too and fully re welded. Oh well CLEARENCE IS NICE.
Please tell me you are putting 35s on here with like 3" of lift.
haha it is lifted 3’', but I’m not going 35’s, dont have enough gear.
I have 31’s for now, until I can afford some nice 33’s.
Harbor freight grinder! haha, mines like 3 years old and still runs like a champ.
Nice progress. I hate off-roading but I think big tires on jeeps looks cool.
well mindless has a set of 33’s for sale…
i have a spare set of 33s (Thin tread)i am not going to use because of my 66 cj5 project…
with your cutting you should easily fit them…
once my 31’s are bald, or i hit the lotto, ill be looking into some bigger tires, and steel wheels. I appreciate the offers tho, Jeepers are all pretty cordial, its nice.
started today on the drivers side arch
Then Pulled the front seats and decided to figure out a plan for the rear floor
Dropped the tank
The cover for the tank is a moisture/ garbage trap, probabaly causing alot of xj tank rust on other peoples rigs
Taped the openings, including the one vent that was missing WTF?
More to come
Theres a free 8.8 on wnyoffroad you should pick up
Have you ever considered driving down south and picking up a jeep with a non-rusted out body for probably the same amount of money?
I couldn’t see cutting out rusted panels on a jeep from the 90’s. It isn’t an antique or anything.
You could have put the money into redoing the suspension or whatever instead of fixing rot holes.
very nice progress…looking good
Spending 700$ for gas and lodge is fun, just so you can go get a tired jeep from down south that you would only be cutting for clearence anyways.
When this jeep is done, I’ll have a lifted jeep on 31’s with recovery bumpers, rock sliders, snorkle, full maitnence done, cb ect for less than you can get a rust free jeep home and do a tune up on it.
Thanks
More pictures!! Looks good so far man!
Check the front floors too, ask me how I should know.
Haha yea deff my fronts were gone when i got mine
I havent got that far, The carpet in the xj is a sponge which never drys fully, even when its dry to the touch (hondas are the same way), that makes the floors rot.
I’m convinced that there isnt any floor under the front carpet, so If I find some, it will be like a kid on christmas
