Hi I have a dell inspiron 1735 that has the infamous charging problem. I just pinpointed the problem to the charging board but in order for the battery to charge i need to update the bios and in order to update the bios i need a battery that is at least 10 percent charged. I need to either borrow somebodies battery for the flash quick or i can plug my new battery into your laptop and you could charge it for me. Thanks for the help.
Are you sure it isn’t the power cord? On my Vostro 1500 the power cord went bad and wouldn’t tell the computer what wattage the charger was, so the battery wouldn’t charge. Could use it on AC all I wanted though. New slim power brick fixed the issue. I also got this message when starting the computer:
“The AC power adapter wattage and type cannot be determined. The battery may not charge. The system will adjust the performance the power available. Please connect a Dell 65W AC adapter.”
Yeah replaced power cord battery and the board itself. There is nothing else left lol
Bump. Somebody has to have a battery I could borrow to fit this thing for 5 min while I update bios.
