The Car might not end up shitty for me, remember all I’ve really driven was my Accord, the 98 Altima and the 01 Passat… I don’t really have too much to compare it to, and so far, I actually like the KA’s bottom end.
Besides, given the amount of money spent, it doesn’t really matter if I like it or not, I can’t ever sell it for any decent sum compared to what I spent.
Actually glad I sold the SR before I sunk money into trying to make it pass honestly. Could have been much more wasted.
Besides most of the money wasted was due to my mechanic waiting for issues to crop up, then not finding any fixes for said issues… I spent so much on parts that aren’t even on yet…
Yeah, I probably could have brought it to SOMEONE more qualified, but no one from here (as my rep shows, even if it is kinda my fault) would step in I think.
There are like six fully functional SR’s on here. Ask those guys. Or you can turbo the KA. Holds boost better cuz bottome end is stronger. Just make sure you change all the timing components first
His car is a '96 so it needs OBD2 support. Besides the KA only other thing I can think of that would work would be a LSx
Yeah, I’d head that, I’d also heard make sure to use an OE-Spec replacement when I do that, cuz some of the aftermarket ones are crap(?)
Also, OBD-2, gotta love it. Oh well, the Greddy Kit uses a standalone and is apparently CARB legal… So, it’s legal here(?)

At least it was running when pulled, but It’s gunna get rebuilt, dunno how though (For Boost or whatever), but It’s more of a learning thing…

CARB legal or not, your going to have to plug the OBD2 scanner in for inspection.
True, and I’m retarded, I meant a piggy back, not standalone, and yeah, very true… I’m not sure how certification works, like if it’s CARB legal, it’s legal anywhere else unless it pops a CEL right?
To an extent. CEL is not the only way to fail via OBD Port.
So, OBD-2 makes it very hard to mod the car to an extent beyond bolt ons and still pass emissions…

If so, get this one stock and legit, sell it, and buy a 95 S14 from Georgia with high miles for cheap, and put an SR or RB or LSx or Smallblock in it and enjoy. Or you could join the world of S13 owners

Yeah, I’d considered the 95… But a lot of people have scooped them up. It’s not like the 96 has no potential though. YFZ460 said I could have 2 “not-readys” lol. That might do it, or I could swap the built with the stock every year lolz… :banghead
