when its working its comparable with cable or DSL… when its working…

you use the dish for download but what do you use for upload?? dialup, dsl??
as far as TV goes…Sat > cable
hopefully they can improve & beatout cable when it comes to internet hookup too.

yeah we got direct tv thought about getting direcway but I don’t know. JT the guy who hooked up my satellite ( he owns big dog gym in mount pleasant) said that the commercials on tv were bunk about satellite tv BULLSHIT so I’m still debating about that but I guess it would be better than dial-up

i got direct TV…2 room setup…
i want to switch over to HD (1 room HD 1 room regular), but they only offer the deal of free shit/installation to new customers, so i’m just going to buy the HD dish(oval) and the HD reciever & hook it up myself.
It should be straight forward since the wires are already run and i’m just swapping hardware…i’m pretty electronic savy, so i’m sure i can figure it out.
but need to know if there was anything else that needed to be done besides swapping the dish & the one reciever & getting my plan changed.
I assume the regular reciever i leave in the other room will work with the HD dish?
I guess i’m going to get the samsung HD reciever that alows you to hook up the HD dish & the antenna so you can get HD local channels & it will intigrate them into the channel guide.
I was gonna just get the antenna & a reciever for HD local since getting those channels is free, but its only a little more for the dual (directTV&local) HD receiver & the HD plan is like an extra $10 a month so i might as well just get it all.
I’ll probably do it sometime after x-mas, or sooner if i run across a good deal.
but if you could ask him his opinion on the switch or let me know how to get in touch with him to ask some questions i’d appriciate it.
